...but the check-in lady was a bit rude, the room was on the small side, and worst of all, the hotel is plastered with signs that tell you to what to do and what not. Don't smoke, don't leave the door open, do recycle, the list goes on and on. more

We have never stayed in such a clean, quiet, nice hotel. Every touch was special from the 'snack bag' left in the room, the free computer with internet access in the lobby, the extra pillows and attitudes of the owners. Our room came with a refrigerator, microwave and access to a library of DVD's and books to use for free.... more

We stayed at the Mountain Sage Inn for a long weekend at the end of September 2009. Our room was super clean and the staff was super friendly and helpful. The location was awesome with easy access to Rocky Mountain National Park and within walking distance to downtown Estes Park. The room was super affordable compared to the other establishments... more

I stayed here two nights while hiking/traveling through RMNP. I stayed in an Economy room as I was just looking for a cheap place to sleep at night. It certainly isn't anything fancy, but it was extremely clean. Every fixture in the bathroom was brand new and everything was in great condition. The only thing I didn't like was the... more

Good location near RMNP. Rooms are basic but very clean and well maintained. Easy walk into Estes Park. If you're a non-smoker who wants well-priced accommodations, the Mountain Sage is for you! more

We were there for 3 days on the upper floor. It is located 2 minutes right up the road from the main street. There is no elevator, only 2 floors. There was a bench outside on the deck. The picture of the place is exact. Our room was located in the front with supposedly a view the mountains, but they... more

If you are looking for just a room to sleep in that is cheap then you will be happy with your stay. Anything else, probably not. The rooms are very basic and a bit worn down, but were also very clean. The staff seemed very friendly and were very helpful in helping find places to eat, shopping, etc. We stayed... more

The gal at the front desk when we arrived had us fooled. She was very pleasant on the phone and made it sound like they would take care of everything to make our trip pleasant. Instead, they locked the hot tub - requiring reservations to use it. We couldn't leisurely head to the hot tub without first checking in with... more

I stayed here two nights. I liked that it is located away from the main part of Elkhorn Ave. and is only 4 miles from the park. The motel has a homey feel and a pleasant, accommodating owner. The rooms are basic but comfortable although the bed was a little softer than I prefer. Negatives are that there is only... more

After leaving the place where we had reservations due to intense cleaning odors, we ran into 'no vacancies' everywhere. A sister had stayed at Mountain Sage earlier in the year so we found it and ended up staying there based on her assurances that it was very comfortable. This is a very plain, older style motor court, but the ladies... more
