We originally booked with the Tyroll Lodge but thought it was a better deal to come to the Big Horn Mountain Lodge as there are 3 queen beds and we have 3 children, 2 of them teenagers. That was great as well as knowing that the lodge was run by a Christian. However, the room was very old, stained carpet,... more

Probably that's not the best lodge in Estes Park but it is surely one of the cheapest. It is conveniently located on the highway arriving from Denver and offers a good vista on the surrounding peaks in the Rocky Mountains National Park. Rooms are very basic and bathroom has very old equipments, with the smallest washbasin ever! Breakfast is very... more

We had made plans for a family get together not realizing that it was the same weekend as a big event in Estes Park. This place was the only place in town that had rooms available. Guess that should have told us everything! The rooms are OVERpriced, the carpet is so old and dirty that I would not allow anyone... more

This is the 7th year that Bighorn Mountain Lodge has hosted our Motorcycle Bible Study group's "Rolling Retreat". The motel is an older facility that is rustic and clean. The management has been very accomodating to our group of 20-25. The facility has a community room that is used to host wedding receptions and events. We have been able to... more

We checked into the motel at 9:30pm. Upon trying to enter our room we noticed about a 1 inch gap at the bottom of the door - this would allow any little creature to join you for the night. Upon entering the room we discovered the carpet wasn't even stuck to the floor, stains in the carpet, rust marks embedded... more

this is the worst lodge in estes park. the rooms are filthy and small. the price that you pay for it is not worthy at all. estes park is a beautiful place and spending your vacation there stayin at this lodge might ruin everything. the manager is also very rude to people if something doesn't go by as he had... more

Bighorn is a rather rustic facility wth the bare minimum of amenities. Even though it is within walking distance of Estes Park downtown and the views from the rooms are striking, they don't really maintain their rooms very well. When I walked into my room, several things hadn't been cleaned in a while and there was even an old used... more

Whatever you do, don't bother staying at the Big Horn Mountain Lodge! The brochure and virtual tour on the internet is SO misleading - pictures must have been taken in the 1950's, when perhaps everything was new! The only thing worthwhile was the view - which no one at the lodge could take credit for. There was NO continental breakfast... more

My wife and I stayed at the Bighorn Lodge on September 3, 2008. This is a nice rustic lodge with a nice view of the Rocky Mountians. The room is rustic but very clean. The decor is older. The tv is small and only 8 channel cable. The lodge has natural gas heat so it is quiet. There is a... more

breakfast buffet? nope, it was three baskets on a cramped counter. Two had prepackaged, individually wrapped honeybuns and sticky rolls. The third had some juice boxes and small bottles of sunny D. Curtains on the windows? nope. They were nearly transparently thin, and did nothing to darken the room once dawn arrived. I am an early riser, but 5:30 am... more
