My experiences with McGregor have all been positive. Along with friendly, eager to help staff, the surprises of all the wildlife, the great views, and clean rooms, their location feels secluded and away from the crowded lodgings else where in the Estes area. We have stayed summer and winter and in many different cabins. We always feel we are in... more

As a family on a budget this place fit our needs very well. We didnt have the river at our door step, but we had plenty of wildlife including Elk within 10 feet of our door several days. We spent 95% of our time exploring Estes and the Rocky Mountain National Park and Horseback Riding. We didnt spend much time... more

McGregor is an awesome place to stay. We loved the place. The cabins are not the fanciest, but they have everything you need and are clean. The location is ideal - close to the park and you can sneak into and back out of downtown in a snap. What makes Mcgregor special is the staff - they are great. The... more

I went to McGregor based on earlier reviews and by watching wildlife on the netcam. I was able to get great prices and even a free pair of snowshoes with the Jan/Feb special. (You can take a free beginner snowshoe hike with park rangers from RMNP.) Susan was very helpful from the first phone call for reservations to a phone... more

This was our second trip to McGregor Mountain Lodge. After our last stay, we thought this would be the perfect place to stay for Christmas, and we were right! The whole property is decorated with Christmas lights. The cabin (#2) was clean and cozy. This cabin has a great patio and wonderful views. It was the perfect size for our... more

After only a week stay at McGregor Mountain Lodge, we were ready to come back. The workers were very helpful, knowledgable of the park and areas of interest, and always ready to help. We loved the cozy and quiant atmosphere! From the minute we walked in the door we felt welcomed. There was a fire roaring and teas and coffee... more

We stayed at McGregor Mountain Lodge in early August. My family(2 adults, 3 boys) enjoyed the stay and the view from 15a was awesome. The room was comfortable and clean. We recieved fresh towels daily and the garbage was emptied also. Housekeeping beyond that was an extra 15%, but I found that to be the norm in alot of properties... more

Stayed in Cabin 8a this week. I didnt set high expectations for this place and I am glad I didnt. The inn keeper was very rude at check in. She did not want to answer our questions about the area instead referred us to the phone book and one phone in the office. When I asked for extra towels you... more

What a great vacation! Located just a mile from the Fall River Road entrance to RMNP and 4 miles outside of "downtown" Estes Park, the McGregor was everything we hoped for and more. We (family of four with two kids 6 & 8) were in Columbine Cottage #6 and were thrilled with everything from the location of the lodge itself... more

When we spoke with the owner on the phone, we were expecting a special place -- we reserved the nicest room (caretakers) and at over $200, we expected a nice cottage. Instead, this is just a motel with a fancy name -- the rooms smelled very smokey, there was mildew near the fridge on the carpet where the refrigerator leaks,... more
