Our son found this great cabin in the woods. The cabin is clean, well-maintained, quiet, well supplied and in an excellent location for exploring Rocky Mountain National Park. Estes Park has a free shuttle service with a stop about 1/2 mile from the cabin. This allows you to get around Estes Park or take you into RMNP to catch the... More

Nice, clean and quiet cabin in the pines. Great location as a base camp for our day trips into the national park. Cabin had a large patio with both gas and charcoal grill. The kitchen had everything in it we needed for cooking. Very quiet even though just 1/2 mile off the main road. The road dead-ends on the property,... More

We have been coming to this wonderful paradise since 1972. The cottages are very clean and well stocked. Last year we met with cousins for a reunion and this year we celebrated our 43rd anniversary. The views are spectacular and the cottages are quaint. Each one has a different theme. Rocky Mountain Park is incredible and we never grow tired... More

The cabins are simple but contain all the amenities you require especially as free WiFi has now been installed. We were there last month and twice saw a black bear from our cabin plus two coyotes, numerous elk also mule dear plus a a large pine martin. If you enjoy fresh-air, wonderful scenery, the freedom and flexibility of self catering... More

It had been 25 years since our initial visit to Estes Park and were not familiar with any motels. We were looking for "a cabin in the woods" when I ran across Machin's Cottages. What a find! The cottages/cabins were quaint without being out-dated and were clean and comfortable. They are situated well apart from each other , giving you... More

We vacation in Estes Park/Rocky Mountain National Park on a regular basis. All the places we've stayed have been nice, but this is truly the 'cabin in the woods' we've been looking for. Everything is thought of and provided. Bring some food and you can just stay there the whole time if you want. It's close to everything, yet tucked... More

We live in the Denver metro area so we take 2-3 trips to RMNP per year as a getaway. We tend to try something new each time and move around a bit, and we happened to stay at Machin's Cottages this past trip. I must say that the location is wonderful, and the surroundings are some of the best in... More

The cottages are great - cute and well maintained and comfortable. We loved that it's away from the road, but it's still quick and easy to get into town or the park. We had a great time hiking different trails in and near the park during the day and going out or cooking at night. An extra nice experience was... More

Once again we stayed in cabin #9 at Machin's, this time for a week. How relaxing this stay was. The cabins are exceptionally clean!! The area is away from traffic so it is very quiet and peaceful, but close enough to see and do everything you want. The views and wildlife are a WOW. We had deer right next to... More

This is a wonderful base for exploring the Rocky Mountain National Park. The cabins are superb - spacious, comfortable, comprehensively equipped, well constructed and beautifully located. This is a great place for bird-watchers. The cabins are very quiet and peaceful with a very generous amount of space between them. Everything is very well planned and laid-out and the cabins are...
