We met family here recently. This was our first time to stay at Idlewilde. The location was top rate. There are many things that need improvements. The kitchens are poorly furnished. It doesn't make a lot of sense to have a cabin that sleeps 6 and there are only 4 forks available. The ovens in the 3 cabins we had... More

I need only 3 things in place to stay: clean, hot shower, good night's sleep. Everyone was very nice here and the cabin was spotless. The shower was hot, but VERY slippery. I slipped twice and I'm young and strong. I would not recommend these showers to the elderly or toddlers. We stayed 7 nights in Pine Rest. We had... More

Dear vedettefille, Thanks for your honest feedback. Our cabins by the river are in tight quarters, but i have to say this is the first time we have heard of a noise issue like this. We will address the shower for sure, but unfortunately we cannot move the buildings. Thanks for staying with, and again, I am sorry it did... More

Four of us (2 grandparents & 2 granddaughters) spent 5 nights in the Aloha Cabin (#6) at Idlewild by the River. Our wonderful screened porch sat 4 feet from the river. We spent a lot of time on the porch reading, watching the river, and enjoying the hummingbirds that collected in large numbers at our feeder. Our granddaughters were thrilled... More

Had a three night stay recently at the Idlewilde and stayed in a great little two person cabin located about about 2 feet from the Fall River. The cabin was clean and well maintained, the grounds were neat and our hosts were very attentive and kept the hummingbird feeder outside our window filled up twice a day.(no kidding)! Now the... This is the 2nd year we have stayed at Idlewilde and we are booked for 10 days next year! We love the clean, orderly cabins, the hot tub, the new pavillion with tables underneath it, gas & charcoal grills and the fire pit by the river! Great for relaxing, fishing, getting to know new people and having a family vacation!... More

One of the best places to stay in Estes! Although I wanted to stay here, I did not stay at Idlewilde, but rented a home next door through the Idlewilde staff because they were booked solid. This is a fantastic location! The hummingbirds were awesome! Fishing was wonderful! We saw a small bear walk by out our back door. I... More

Idlewilde by the river will be your "go to" place to stay in Estes Park after your first visit. The cabins were beautiful and clean, it was just 5 mins from downtown Estes Park, there were hummingbirds everywhere, the river sang us to sleep every night, we even saw a small bear running through the campsites! Oh, I caught a... More

We stayed in the Dun-Workin cabin for one night. The managers, a couple, were the nicest people you'll ever meet. The place is old, but that is part of the charm. The cabin was tiny, but fine for two people. We cooked on the charcoal grill, and when we needed more charcoal, the manager gave us some. There is a... More

We love this place!! We've probably rented every cabin here at some point. We all came at once one year and rented the big cabin. Had a blast. This is heaven on earth. My favorite thing to do, sit by the river with my coffee in the mornings. Pure Bliss!

My teenage boys and I had a wonderful time staying at Idlewilde by the River for a week over the Fourth of July. The property is tucked away along a road that is convenient to both the Rocky Mountain National Park and the center of Estes Park. It was about a five-minute drive to the entrance of RMNP. Remarkable. We... More
