The exterior and public spaces of this Inn have considerable rustic charm, and the location and view are lovely. Moreover, the staff, although young and inexperienced, tried hard to please. Nonetheless, I would never stay here again. My room (#24) was tiny and dingy. While the shared bathrooms were O.K., the showers were awful, unclean and located in a closet... more

The Baldpate Inn is a fine place. It is an old mountain lodge with few frills but a lot of class. It has an attentive staff and great views of the Colorado Rockies. It is simple but elegant. more

We spent two nights at this place and plan to return. The place is relaxed, quirky, friendly and comfortable. It is NOT the Marriott. Vintage furniture, comfy beds, friendly staff, beautiful views and yummy breakfast. Chipmunks, hummingbirds. Walk to a lake. At first we were skeptical, but after and hour or so, we were right at home. Don't miss it. more

The place is old and a little run down, but we did not care, my two children - 8 and 10 - didn't even mind the lack of tv or shared bathrooms - it is such a quiet and peaceful location, especially when conpared to the town of Estes Park, which is a tourist trap with terrible pizza. The breakfast... more

I have never stayed at the Inn (I live in the area) so this review is only for the restaurant. The Baldpate Inn is charming, the people are friendly, and the food is excellent. True, they only serve soup and salad for lunch and dinner but with fresh muffins and breads it is plenty of food. I would rather eat... more

We stayed in one of the cabins which was very quaint but the floor was not clean at all. The bedding was nice but the couch and chair did not have a spring left in them. It was difficult to sit and the floor was filthy. The owner of the Inn is anything but friendly. She'd walk past us and... more

Disappointing as it is to receive this kind of review, it did cause us to relook at our children’s menu & pricing and make changes. In the dining room of The Baldpate Inn we do seek to offer more than just great homemade food; our goal is to provide a distinctive dining experience within our National Register listed property to...

We had eaten the salad and soup buffet several years ago at Baldpate and remembered the homemade soups and breads, charming mountain setting, and hummingbirds at the feeders outside the the huge dining room windows overlooking the mountains. So when it came time to find lodging with more scenery than on our past hiking trips, we picked Baldpate. The Baldpate... more

We had the pleasure of staying at the Baldpate Inn in July 2003. We couldn't have chosen a better place. We liked it because it was outside the hustle and bustle of Estes Park. The Inn is very rustic, but that adds to the charm. We are avid hikers and Baldpate was a perfect fit. It was wonderful after a... more

This historic bed and breakfast is located at about 9,000 feet nestled in the Rocky Mountain National Park area. It is very rustic which is part of the charm. The staff of about 20 college students are hired yearly from around the United States. The food is all cooked on site from fresh ingredients. Breakfast consists of a freshly made... more

How does one begin to describe the nostalgic feelings a 74 year old woman has when remembering visiting that grand old place in the 1930's? My father was a candy and tobacco salesman and the Inn was on his route. We children were priviledged to go with him on his mountain routes during the summer and "The Baldpate Inn" was... more
