If you have stayed at Madison Campground in Yellowstone or virtually any other reserved site National Park campground, you will feel right at home in the Moraine Park campground. Ranger stations, restrooms and campsites are nearly identical. To be fair, Moraine has amazing mountain views. We stayed in site 156 of D loop which made good on the promised views... More

Just stayed at this campground for the second time. Most of the sites are a nice size so you're not on top of anyone. This time we scored site 183 in B loop (first come/first served) which was really nice. We had a great view of Long's Peak. We could walk up the hill, park our chairs, and gaze down... More

We camped (1 tent and 2 hammocks) for 3 nights on site A137. We loved the site due to the rocks behind our site, which gave us some privacy and a place for our son to play. We also were not in a row of tents, (that were in a valley) but we were set off to the side. We... More

We stayed 2 nights. Park was nice. Good views. Liked the location unfortunately it rained heavily while we were there so didn't enjoy the full potential. I did spray bathroom to kill spiders that were everywhere. Spent everyday in Estes to launder/dry our clothes/blankets. No camp stores except for wood from 5-8pm no showers but $6 at laundry mat for... More

The campground is beautiful and close to everything. There is plenty of room for kids to explore. The bear boxes are a fantastic feature. The views of the mountains are well worth researching before you book your site. The restrooms were clean and we deeply appreciated flush toilettes. The only drawback to this campground...no hot showers. They have a roofless... More

Beautiful views, convenient, rangers were very helpful. If you are tent camping, research your site carefully. If tent camping, get a walk-to site away not next to the bathroom if you want to avoid heavy foot/car traffic. Also, try to stay on the outside of the loop away from RV spots. Some of the tent sites are a little cramped...while... More

Let me start by saying we are experienced campground campers. This campground is great. Terrific sites, really nice pad areas to put up tent. Clean bathhouse. Wildlife, especially Mule Deer spend time walking through the park. We woke up one morning to find a Mule Deer right by our tent! We stayed at site 18. The site was perfect for... More

We visited Rocky Mountain National Park for a few days in July 2014 and camped in the Moraine Park Campground using a six person tent. Here are the pros and cons of this campground. PROS: Beautiful scenery. Feels very isolated in the wilderness but its located close to Estes Park (15 min drive) where many shops, restaurants, food and all... More

Reserving six months ahead allowed us to get a decent spot after searching for most of the nights of July 4th week at $20 per night. But it was a crazy busy week in the park. There was a small elk that frequented our campsite. The Firewood seller really wasn't more expensive than what we saw out of park for... More

Have camped here numerous times. Don't come here thinking you will be in a spacious site without neighbors. The sites are really close. Managed to get one site one year that we were able to hike around a rock and get some privacy but those are hard to come by especially if you have just arrived. The rangers at the... More
