One of our favorite spots to camp- gorgeous views everywhere you go, tons of wildlife yet only 10 minutes to Estes Park if you forgot something! (we forgot lunch meat and a jacket.) Can't wait to go back- some of the sites are a little rocky but very well laid out with a fire pit, picnic table and nice tent... More

This campsite was amazing! Great view of Longs Peak and the meadow bellow the campground. You will wake up every morning to the elk calling each other. Many great hiking trails very close. Lots of elk and massive deer in the area.

Camped two nights in an unpowered site. Clean and reasonable camp site, price is good and location is the same. Site not feel overcrowded or unsafe, toilet and washroom facilities were adequate. Nothing really to write home about, nothing really to say was bad.

Lovely sites that spaced far apart. Wildlife is wandering through! Hummingbirds were plentiful. Great view of mountains. Staff is very good. The man selling ice cream and firewood has wonderful stories to share. No showers is a bummer. By the time sun shower warms, it's too cold to stand in the outdoor stall!

This was the first campground my wife and I stayed at on a two week road trip from North Carolina to California and one of the nicest around! We had sight 117 (after asking for a more secluded/private site.) You could still see two other sites but still had a nice private space set back. There is also a nice... More

Arriving on a Saturday in August without a reservation is always a gamble. Moraine is 100% reservation only this summer. We pulled into the campground at 8:30 am and the "campground full" sign was up. ALWAYS ASK anyway! We got one of the no show sites (104). The ranger said 8 am, 10 and 8 pm were good times to... I think we got lucky because I didn't see a better site in the whole campground. The site was about a hundred yards away from the parking spot, over a small hill that sheltered it from the rest of the sites. Only one neighbor was visible. Bear vault in the site, surrounded by trees, and sheltered from wind. Hope to... More

Stayed here for 3 nights in a spot close to the valley. Offers good views over the Rockies. Spots are spacious and very nice. Downside is that some facilities were not that close to my spot. Enjoyed staying here. Bus shuttle runs every 30 minutes to the Park and Ride. Catch the second bus there to the various trailheads.

Rocky Mountain National park is so beautiful! Moraine Campground also offers rugged beauty. Once you get through the gates in Estes Park (the line getting in can be long) it is a short drive to the campground. The Park Rangers were friendly and helpfull. The park is a lot like other NP campgrounds we have been to. It is very natural... More

We camped here on a recent trip to RMNP. We stayed on a tent loop with a designated tent area. This was convenient as it was fairly level with no rocks or tree roots interfering with the tent. The spots varied in closeness with one another with some being 100 yds of the road. The only negative I have to... More
