As avid hikers and nature lovers, my husband and I have wanted to hike the redwoods for many years, and recently we realized that dream. While doing research on where to stay I came across BnB Hiouchi and immediately knew from the website that this was the place for us. And it was. From the very first moment we met... More

My husband and I recently stayed at this wonderful B and B and there are not enough good things to say about it. The property is amazing - we had one of the upstairs rooms, which includes a big bathroom with a bathtub and windows onto the trees, as well as a balcony with stunning views of the Smith River.... If you are ever in the vicinity of the Northern California Redwood country, you need to make a point of staying with Curt and Meg at Bed and Bread Hiouchi. We had reservations for two nights, but ran into a problem when most of the coast lost power in a storm and our hotel had no power. Curt was able... More

bnb Hicouchi is the best place you can imagine if you are looking for a quiet, peaceful spot in the redwoods with a super knowledgeable, gracious host. This place is a gorgeous home and is set right on the Smith river. The wide expanse of windows in the main living area gives you the feeling of being in a tree... More

My wife and I recently stayed 2 nights. The downstairs room is spacious and opens to a deck with a view of the river. As nice as the accomodations were, the best part of our experience was the innkeeper Curt. He was friendly and genuinely concerned that we had an enjoyable experience. As an example, at breakfast on our last... More

Our family (hubby, 20 yr old son, 18 yr old dtr & I) loved loved loved our visit! The two nights we stayed were the kickoff to a twelve night California adventure and ended up being a highlight for each of us! We stayed downstairs which was perfect for us... we were provided with both privacy and connection to the... More

Curt and Meg are an amazing couple that make you feel at home. They truly understand the concept that this is your vacation and will do everything to make it an amazing one. Their home on the Smith is a perfect place to explore Jedediah Smith Redwoods. Everything in this place is first class, especially the host!

We would suggest that you give yourself at least two full days and three nights when you stay at Hiouchi. Curt is a warm, gracious, intelligent and accommodating host. My wife and I occupied the entire downstairs, which was quite spacious and comfortable. On the first morning there, we slept until 9:00, something we have not done in 40 years.... More

We are new to the idea of B&Bs, so did not know exactly what to expect. Our plan was to hike in the Redwoods and to stay as close to the forest as possible. Curt and Meg's place was perfect for us in that we were just minutes away from the majestic trees and surrounded by the sounds of the... More

My wife and I drove down the Pacific coast from Seattle to Meg and Curts place. We had booked a three night stay there back in February. We arrived there and Curt had left a message for us that he was taking Molly, his dog for a walk and just to go in the house and make ourselves at home.... More
