This place gave me the creeps and I couldn't wait to get out of there. Checkin went okay amidst a number of interruptions with only one person working we were assigned a room on the 3rd floor. Walking into the room it looked 'unkept' somehow. Looking at the details it came to light that there hadn't been a quality control... More

-Physical building/rooms are acceptable (rehashed Hampton Inn) and the location is very nice. -The ownership and staff are crooks. Don't reserve a room: they will just give it away and book you in a more expensive room without your consent and charge your card. If you balk at this shady practice, they will claim to refund you the difference, but... More

If you're reading other reviews you can see for yourself that many people have complained about unauthorized charges, overcharges, etc., and it turns out these are accurate complaints, not just "flukes." I initially would have given this place around 3 stars for being an average (but not "good") place to spend the night, but after my latest experience, that has... More

We chose Oceanfront Lodge, which should not be confused with Ocean view Lodge also in Crescent City, because of other reviews on trip advisor. We were not disappointed. This is a revamped Hampton Inn, but seems a little nicer with a large lobby, ocean views from the back of the lobby and a complete full-service restaurant. It advertises it is... More

Upon arrival in reception, the views of the ocean are spectacular. We waited behind another couple at reception to check in. After 10 minutes, my husband went to find someone. A waitress came to check us in. After a 10 hour drive, we were delighted to see that the hotel had it's own restaurant. We decided to eat here. The... More

We were please with the location, very pretty. The bed and bedding in the first room we were assigned to was questionable. We always look for signs of bedbugs. The mattress had black specks in the cording seams and the bottom sheet had not been changed, hairs on it and body wrinkles. We asked for another room and were quickly... More

We were quoted a different price for the room the night we arrived. Upon check out I asked for a receipt, then realized they charged my CC without a signature & that the price was $20 more than what I was told. When I asked why the clerk proceeded to get agitated, so I proceeded to continue on my adventure... More

Room was dirty. Repairs were needed throughout the property and where they were done you could see it was a sloppy haphazard job that was visible to guests.....paint on carpet, unfinished drywall with visible screws. The room had a view, to bad the windows were so filthy and blocked with seagull poop. Curtains were broken in our room. Parking lot... More

Not much to this little town...dingy motels and closed shops. It was a bit out of our family budget but worth it. Great location and views and clean huge suite for the 5 of us. The three young boys loved the warm indoor pool. This property is on the coast so it is worthwhile to have a room in the... More

I called today regarding the following illegal practice of charging my account. I was given initials CM & XJ as the names of the management. This was a one day stay, we explained we were driving around the country from Florida. We had driven south from Oregon taking 101 which added about 3 - 4 hours to the trip. As... More
