Price, it is all about price. We paid nearly $300 for one night. The staff were very pleasant and helpful, 'though we only ever saw one person at the front desk at any one time. No other staff to be seen. While the lone person at the desk tried his best, clearly he was overly busy. Another couple went looking... more

Stayed here in June 2009, imeadiately after school let out. I wish every hotel stop on our trip was this hotel over and over again. Weather was mild, and nice. Given the reviews we were going to stay at a different hotel with a higher rating, but met people on road who clued us in to the Hampton. I am... more

For devotees of Hampton Inns, this property is near the top insofar as hotel and room quality is concerned - and would be even if it were located in the desert. However, the location, right on the Pacific coast, is spectacular, and is easily the best hotel location in Crescent City. Room prices are undoubtedly high in high season, although... more

Unimpressed and a bit leery after cruising the hotel/motels on 101 we plugged a hotel search into the GPS and found the Hampton Inn on Front street in Crescent City. This hotel is very nice with astounding views of the rocky coast. The beds wern't too comfortable but everything else more than made up for it. The host upon checkin... more

I recently spent two nights with lots of extended family with young kids at this property. The first night I stayed on a cot (the hideaway bed is hideous and not good for anyone but infants) - in a second-floor "suite" with my sister, her husband and kids ages 7 and 8 1/2. Bad news. It was too cramped and... more

We wanted a hotel located in the heart of the redwoods and this turned out to be ideal. It is a bit odd in that Crescent City is a depressing, rundown town, but the hotel in in a beautiful location where the town meets the water. The hotel is fairly consistent with other Hampton Inns at which we have stayed.... more

This is clearly the nicest hotel in Crescent City with absolutely beautiful views of the ocean/sunset. The hotel itself however seemed very old and dated. We had a two room suite on the first floor that was nice and relatively clean, however the furniture and carpet seemed older and stained. The bed was very nice and comfortable. They have a... more

For a very high price, the rooms are verrrry average. On our return travels from California to Vancouver, B.C. we stayed one night in Crescent City at the Hampton Inn & Suites. Considering the many fine hotels and motels that we stayed in during this trip, we report with regret, that this was by far the most vastly overpriced accommodation... more

I am surprised to read some of the bad reviews about this Hamptom Inn. My husband and I stayed here one night on our way to the Redwoods, we thoroughly enjoyed it. It was a Thursday night and it was peaceful and quiet. The front desk girl was friendly and even gave us dinner recommendations that turned out good. Our... more

We are also Hilton Honors members and believe me we have stayed in much worse Hilton Hotels for a lot more cash than here ( The Hilton Hotel in Bath, England is twice the price and half the hotel). We have stayed in many Hampton Inns in the USA over the past 15 years some good, some bad. This one... more
