Like others have said this is an older motel -- with dated furnishings, old bathroom fixtures, very small room, limited outlets for today's world of needing to plug more things in. No Frig or Microwave. Essentially no breakfast -- packages of instant oatmeal don't count as breakfast in my book. It would be fairly easy for them to add some... More

After reading the other reviews I booked two nights at this hotel. I was disappointed on arrival. The motel is very dated. There were stains on the furniture, the finish was coming off the desk, the sink in the bathroom had cracks in it, and old, dirty looking linoleum on the floor. I have stayed at better motels for the... More

We recently stayed here (for 2 nights the first week of August 2014) and had such a wonderful time. It literally is on the beach, so after a day of playing in the redwoods you can come back to the beach. We stayed with our 6 year old and 1.5 year old and they had a great time. It isn't... More

This facility is very dated, we stay two nights in 2 different rooms due to availability when booking on line. The first room had a strange set up two queen beds with large partition which oddly blocked off the room and enclosed the bathroom, which was 2 feet from the one bed. The TV was in the hallway, which could... More

Booked this place for it's location on the beach and was so happy that I did! I thought it was priced appropriately for its location. The room was clean, spacious and had a sliding glass to out the back of the room to see the ocean. There was a shared back patio that you stepped out o to where you... More

While traveling through the Redwoods we stopped and stayed here. Nothing fancy but a great place to stay. Close to resturants, aquarium, lighthouse, and just right off the deck is the beach. Can even see the ships coming into the harbor.

Simple, basic, clean. Decorated in the 70s, hasn't been updated since. Really, not much to say... everything was "as described" in the promo material. There aren't too many options in Crescent City for lodging, and so we went with CBM. My only real criticism is that it's very overpriced for what it is. For $112.00 or so, I would have... More

If you have a high preference for stylish, renovated, new hotel rooms, then this property may disappoint. It is definitely a "motel" - with all rooms on one level, each with its own separate entrance from the outside deck. The decor is definitely dated, and I'm sure more regular deep cleanings or interior painting couldn't hurt; but the room is... More

Thanks for the review! We're happy that you were able to enjoy your birthday on the beach. You are correct about the salt air and humidity taking its toll on everything around here (not just the motel, but cars, too). We have updated three rooms so far with new carpet, paint and fixtures and are planning on doing more in... More

Have stayed here for years when traveling north. If you want somewhere to stay without the frills or noise, this is the place. Walk in one door and out the other onto the beach. Space for long quiet walks and plenty of seashells for memories. Near enough to restaurants, aquarium, lighthouse and a casino. Have stayed alone and with family.... More

We're glad that you have found us enjoyable for so long! You are correct in stating that we are not super "frilly," but we are working on improving the rooms and addressing our guest's wants. The newest beds we've added are a bit softer than our previous beds, the keurig coffee machines have been well-received, and the ocean view will... More

It has a great location on the beach but that's about all it has going for it. This is a very rundown very old motel. The furniture is old and the chairs had stains on it. The bathroom sink had rust stains and my wife refused to use the shower. It's right off the highway so its loud. The curtain... More

I'm sorry that you did not find our motel up to your standards. One star does seem a little harsh, but to each their own. You are correct that this is an old motel, though we do try to not present a "rundown" look. We have been reupholstering all of our chairs, though it is slow going with only one... More
