This property is a true motor lodge from another era. Exceptionally well-maintained, love the covered 'at your door' parking, huge rooms, comfortable beds and cool retro interior. The curly redwood in the rooms and all around the lodge is beautiful! It is not the Hilton by any means, but if you want great character, friendly staff, a great nights sleep... More

We have stayed here before and would do so again. The couple who work here are super nice and gave me directions when I asked, and were very patient. The lodge is really a classic, built from one curly redwood tree. It could use some updating like newer windows and a coffeemaker in the room would be a nice addition,... More

Road tripping with 2 kids (7/10) from Oregon to Los Angeles, this was our first overnight stop. Recommended by a friend, we booked a night at this adorable, kitchy gem. There are no frills to these accommodations. It's a funky little place. Convenient to what little happens in Crescent City. We had a very large, double queen room for just... More

We always stay here when traveling through the area. It's not fancy, no frills to be seen, but it is well maintained and clean. The rooms are large and comfortable. The receptionist is a jewel and we look forward to seeing her when we visit. We always travel by motorcycle and I have two words for any other riders-COVERED PARKING-right... More

The motel is as advertised, unique and historical. But there is significant road noise through the single pane windows. Very well maintained for an older property. I had problems with the WiFi similar to other reviewers; could not get it to work on a Motorola smart phone. Front office could not help with this. It is a WiFi problem with... More

This is one of those classic motor lodges with a gimmick (built from one curly redwood log) that has stood the test of time and still in great shape. We stayed here twice on our recent vacation on the coast and stayed in the suite room. It was very roomy and was great having the separate room for my Mom.... More

Stayed here with the family on a drive up the coast. Wanted to show my young kids what a true old school motel was like (as opposed to the cookie cutter new hotels that dot the highway). Curly's fit the bill perfectly; there was even a few vintage cars in the parking lot to complete the look and feel. That... More

We found out about this place on Trip Advisor and had to try it out. We love quirky stuff. The price was right, room was HUGE. Unfortunately it was musty smelling and being right on the main highway- noisy. But we liked it anyway. A must see on your Redwoods vacation.

Good place for the price... I gave it a "very good" because i would stay here again. The other hotels in this price range were creepy to say the least. The Curly Redwood lodge still use actual keys, which was funny but charming at the same time. My room was clean with new carpet. The bathroom was clean and updated... More

Stayed two nights, July 28 & 29, 2015. Pulled in pretty late in the night, but the lights were on and a guest was even sitting in a very inviting adirondack chair, having a beverage and chilling on the common lawn out front. Room was ready and waiting. Clean and tidy as can be. This is an authentic 50's hotel,... More
