They don't make them like this anymore and they should. A pristine time capsule with a twist - it was all built with lumber from a single huge tree. Great staff, covered parking for all, spotless. A bit of time travel to the glory days of road trips in Detroit iron. But here not only that was then - it... more

We came upon the Curly Redwood Lodge from a recommendation on our road trip south along the Oregon and California coasts. We already had a place to stay for the evening so we checked out their reviews online. We had no set plans and Crescent City was a good days drive on our next leg of our journey south. We... more

My hubby and I spent one night in Room 33 of the Curly Redwood Lodge on September 9. We were expecting a no-frills experience, but not the worst hotel experience of our lives. There is neat redwood everywhere and yes, the hotel was built from a single redwood tree. The price is reasonable ($66 a night) and the check in... more

Thanks to previous reviewers in Tripadvisor. It is worth it; you do not have to pay 30 to 50% more in a chain name hotel; keep that for a nice dinner. Yes, it is kind of retro, but clean and comfortable. more

We stopped for a night at the Curly Redwood Lodge, and found it to be exactly what it says on the tin! Convenient location right off the highway, and an easy walk to restaurants and waterside. We parked right outside our room. Our room was a good size and very clean. Bed was comfy, chairs were not so much. Good... more

Thoroughly enjoyed stay at Curly Redwood. Yes, there is no flat screen tv, no microwave and no table for eating meals. I don't need that stuff anyway as I'm out and about when traveling. I LOVED being able to pay for just what I need AND have a clean, safe, light filled open environment, with no smoking anywhere on the... more

This motel had a nice retro feel. The room wasn't brand new but was reasonably clean and comfortable. Both the bedroom and bathroom were large and the stand-up shower was average. Nice touches included a reserved parking spot in front of each room and the option to walk to restaurants and the water. The staff was helpful and the price... more

Positive: Neat retro building with real keys to open the very large room, nice staff, very clean rooms, beds and pillows were comfortable, good location for going to see Redwoods, and Crescent City was fun to explore. Nice view from the second floor room. Negative: The remote for the TV had no number pad, and with an abundant number of... more

We loved the Curly Redwood Lodge! It was like taking a trip back in time and being a kid again. Don't expect anything fancy here...but enjoy the large, very clean rooms! The motel is located directly across the street from the harbor and when the mists clear you have a fantastic view. We are definitely planning on staying here again.... more

we stayed for two nights and came straight from a designer boutique 5 star hotel. The contrast at first sight couldn't be greater, but we enjoyed our two nights. It's very clean, super friendly and has a 1950s feeling. Bit gloomy rooms and bad pillows are the only drawbacks. I was worried that it would be too noisy on account... more
