This B&B is a little south of the Kona area very close to the Place of Refuge. The rooms are clean and well kept. The breakfast is excellent. The hosts are helpful and pleasant. There are beach supplies you can borrow and take to the nearby beaches. I would stay there again.

The directions to the B and B were great, even at night found it with no problem. Mary greeted us upon arrival and showed us the nice room. Breakfast was great with fresh brewed Kona coffee and fresh fruits, some right from the back yard. Seeing Bob eating bagels and salmon one morning looked soooo good that the next morning... More

A small quiet b&b with beautiful front gardens with lots of tropical fruit trees. There is a comfortable communal room with a pleasant vibe, great for having a read and relaxing +wifi. Bedroom was a nice size with en suite bathroom, comfy bed (really important) and lanai with views to ocean. Breakfast was on the upstairs verandah fruits cake tea/coffee.... More

Mary and bob are such great people. They made us fill like we were family when me went out during the day we would always say when we get home because they made us fill so welcome just like family. We enjoyed Mary cooking and all the fruit we could eat. Bob and Mary are so sweet they made us... More

We had a wonderful stay at Hale Ho'ola B&B. Mary was very friendly and a great host. The breakfast was very delicious. We enjoyed relaxing at the private lanai while watching the "wild" cows and pigs in the backyard. The place is very peacefull and laid back and close to beautiful beaches and other sights. Very laid back, relaxed, nice view, friendly hosts, good food and coffee. Had a wonderful time with wonderful hosts. Good breakfast every morning at 8 with great coffee starting at 7:30. The hosts/owners gave good advice on sights to see, places to eat and travel tips. South of Kona away from the more touristy resorts. Close to Pu'uhonua o Honaunau... More

The highlights of our stay were falling asleep to the beautiful melodies of the tree frogs and waking up to breakfast with the friendly little geckos. Bob and Mary were most gracious and patient with our two young children allowing them to "help" with breakfast preparation and follow them all about the property. Everything a tourist needs, umbrellas, boogie boards,... More

If you want a peaceful and very pleasant Hawaiian getaway, head to Hale Ho'ola. You'll be welcomed like old friends and treated like family. Bob and Mary are terrific hosts who obviously enjoy what they are doing! The breakfasts are delicious and the conversation is sweet. We and our son and daughter-in-law stayed in two rooms for six nights. Bob and Mary were excellent hosts, providing very nice breakfasts each morning, including fresh juice, a selection of teas, excellent fresh-brewed local coffee, fresh fruit, a daily selection of at least two kinds of breads, cakes, and sweet rolls, and a main course. Everything was well prepared,... More

Bob and Mary manage to hit that sweet spot in hospitality - treating you like family but staying out of your way when you want to chill out ! We are a family of five - 3 teenage kids with lots of energy and lots of appetite - our hosts helped us out many times with local suggestions for things... More
