We read the reviews and almost passed this great deal by. This is the best deal downtown. What more could you ask for? We had an indoor pool and hot tub - and the pool was actually big enough and deep enough to actually swim not just wade around in. The room was great with new mattresses - frig and... More

I found it annoying that the hotel does not look like the picture. In reality it looks slightly run down. It is on a noisy major freeway. We were too tired when we arrived to try and change and in any case we had booked thru a company that did not allow changes. More

Several of the recent reviews refer to our hotel as not looking like the website, so I clicked on the "Professional Photos" on this website and found that each time you do so it redirects to a different site each time (ie Expedia, Orbitz, Travelocity, ect.). Each have the outside view as on Trip Advisor. They also feature our Executive... More

Pros: Price, Location, western views, fast internet, elevator Cons: Musty smell in rooms, unheated pool, Loud sliding doors If you are a snob about hotels/motels this is not the place for you. If you are accepting of a second rate hotel for a better price and location this is worth it. It does not exude cleanliness or smell fresh but... More

The Plaza Inn wasn't bad...we stayed one night, and then came back the next week to stay for three more days. The rooms were clean, the hotel was quiet (we were on the quiet side and not across from the highway), and the staff was friendly and helpful. Basic breakfast could have been a little better and the swiming pool... More

First, let me say thank you for your honest review of our hotel and helpful "room tip". You will be pleased to hear that our adjoining restaurant, The Canary Cafe, will be opening at the end of Janaury, and they will be providing our complimentary hot breakfast. Also, please except our apologies for the pool and hot tub not being... More

When we first got to the room the thermostat was literally set at 80 degrees, felt like a sauna. The room was just barely large enough to house the king size bed, meaning that there was a 2 foot perimeter to walk around the room. The wool blanket hadn't been dried with a drier sheet so we were severely shocked... More

In reading this review, I can't help but wonder if there was anything we might have down to make this guest comfortable. Even at my owm home I can "SEE the electricy in the dark" on my blankets. Albuquerque has a very arid climate and no amount of "drier sheets" is going to stop static electricty. We do, however, have... More

The hotel looks nice in the pictures, right? Well, the hotel (more like motel...) looks NOTHING at all like that and the rooms look NOTHING like the pictures. The rooms are typical thrift store pieced-together, though they and the bathroom were clean. Seriously, they should be sued for false advertising. No white bedspread, no fluffy pillows! Our balcony had a... More

I'm always concerned when a "guest" comments that their room does not look exactly like the website. As with all hotels - we have various rooms at various rates and different pictures on different websites. If you booked your room on one of the websites that advertises to "fill rooms that hotel hasn't sold" and expected the $150 Executive Suite... More

We booked our room with Orbitz. Paid $222.08 for three nights. No problem checking in. They said it was prepaid. Everything was ok. Hotel was misleading...photo was not overlooking a cliff, but a very noisy freeway. We checked out...great, no charges to the credit card we gave them at check in. Then we get billed for $167.85 from the hotel.... More

This hotel offers a great price for downtown. However, it was not a 3-star hotel as indicated by the site where I purchased our 3-night stay. The room was clean, but needed redone. There was some wallpaper peeling and various cords running here in there to reach the limited number of electrical outlets. We did not spend much time at... More

Thank you for staying with us and for your review. Being an older hotel, our maintenance dept. is continually working to keep up with the issues you mentioned, which is the best we, as employees of the hotel can do. Making sure our rooms are clean and providing excellant customer service are also areas in which we strife to do... More

Sadly, the room price at the Plaza increased by 30% between my visits in Nov. 2009 and Nov. 2011 without any increase in quality. While it was a good value at $40/night, it is disappointing at $60/night. Nonsmoking room smelled of smoke, wallpaper peeling, carpet not well vacuumed, shuttle not running the day I was leaving for the airport, pool... More

Thank you for review. I am sorry that you paid a higher rate than you did two years ago - but it doesn't necessarily mean we raised our rates 30%. There are numerous variables on room rates, such as how you book your reservation (ie. call the hotel directly, use our website, a third party web site, or a travel... More
