We were on the road and needed a late night stop. Tripadvisor reviews led me here and they were right. The front desk waited up for us to arrive when we called from the road and gave us a good price. Our room was clean, cool and comfortable. When we have more time to spend here we will be back.

Pretty much just echoing what other reviewers have said. I had my doubts about this place but it truly was very clean. It's an easy walk to Old Town, easy access to the main highway--perfect place to spend a night if you're passing through Albuquerque and just looking for clean bed. There's also a nice little laundry room if you... More

It’s inexpensive, clean, comfortable, and about ½ mile walking distance from Historic Old Town. It’s a basic motel but did include a friendly and helpful staff, refrigerator, coffee maker, and alarm clock. I would definitely stay there again and recommend it to others.

Now I can add my own positive comments to all those I've heard regarding this place. It's very clean and comfortable and right on Route 66 with Old Town just a short walk away. Although I didn't use it, the pool looked really nice. There is even a conveniently located guest laundry though I didn't use it either.

A great little motel with friendly and helpful owners. Room was large and clean. Very quiet. Right on old route 66 so very convenient to old town, the turquoise museum, etc... Great pool area. Free high speed internet with and excellent connection. Would not hesitate to go back. Great value.

We just stayed at the Monterey -- our second time in two years. First was on family vacation two years ago, and now while taking our son to college at Univ. of NM. We LOVE this place. Superb value. Rooms are clean and quiet and the service is top notch. The two owners are always quick and friendly to offer... More

I recently attended a week long conference outside Albuquerque and wanted to stay in town and on Rte 66, not at the resort conference site. The Monterey Non-Smokers Motel was my choice and I was very pleased. A real Rte 66 classic! The motel is a very clean, quiet and exceptionally well maintained, restored Route 66 motel. The owners were... More

Found this great motel on our first stay in ABQ while searching for great signage on Rt. 66. After reading all of the positive reviews, we decided to give it a try for this trip. Stayed for 5 nights and a friend took another room for the same time. We were showing him the sites of ABQ and going to... More

We stayed here based on other reviews and were very pleased. The room was spotless and roomy. Comfortable beds, good shower. Parking is right outside the room, and there is beautiful landscaping. We are traveling Route 66 and trying to stay only in fun, kitschy motels--not chains. This is the best so far! The only issue I noticed was that... More

I live in Las Cruces, and had to get out of there because I was going stir-crazy (if you live in Las Cruces, you know what I mean). I asked a well-traveled friend about lodging and she said she'd stayed at the Monterey Non-Smokers Hotel every few months for a couple of years and wouldn't stay anywhere else in Albuquerque....
