This is one of the iconic motels of route 66 and is located on part of the highway that is still heavily used, hence the street noise seemed to continue throughout the night. For the price though it was more than reasonable. The décor is a little dated but the rooms and bathroom were spacious, clean and well equipped. There... More

In response to the comment about noise. The ABQ BioPark Botanic Garden happens to have a "River of Lights" holiday light show which runs annually from Nov.-Jan This event generates large amount of additional street traffic on Central Ave. especially in the evening and nights hours. Because of our close proximity to the BioPark, street noise by the Monterey Motel... More

I booked this based on Trip Advisor reviews since it was within walking distance of Old Town Albuquerque. The owners could not have been more welcoming. The room was nice and big (although a microwave would have been nice). There was a table and actual closet. Wi-Fi was a little iffy. However we checked out the next morning because the... More

We stayed here whilst driving Route 66. We thought this was a must and were not disappointed. Henry was pleasant and helpful. We arrived early, and were able to check into our room straight away. We were visiting on Thanksgiving and had booked dinner in Old Town, so it was very convenient to walk to. The rooms were very well... More

The owners were very pleasant and helpful, with suggestions for dinner and assurance that it was safe to walk after dark. Room was tastefully decorated, small table with two chairs plus a desk chair, frig, coffeepot. Beds were comfortable. We didn't use the laundry but it was very accessible to the rooms and we could park right outside our door.... More

Loved the location and size of room. Bed comfortable, host very kind. I would stay here again anytime I was in Albuquerque. We were there in December and the room was nicely heated and comfortable. I noticed they had a laundry, but we didn't need one- however it might be handy in future trips with kids.

We were in town for a wedding, so we mainly needed a place to sleep. We arrived a little early, so the owner made a helpful lunch suggestion and set s up in a room that was sheltered somewhat from the noisy Highway 66 out front. The pool was clean and refreshing on a hot afternoon. We felt safe walking... More

First, I should preface this review with the admission that I am much more of a resort/spa person than a vintage motel person. I decided to leave my comfort zone in exchange for a true Route 66 experience. Influenced by the excellent reviews I read here on Tripadvisor, and the great price ($58!!!), I booked it and was looking forward... More

First of all, we feel terribly sorry for this unfortunate occurrence which was, at the time, beyond our control. The baseboard heaters tend to be a bit noisy at the beginning of the season as the trapped air must be bled from the pipes. All of our rooms are equipped with two different heating systems and in this case we... More

First of all, there is definitely no problem walking to the Old Town, day or night. There are the remnants of the heyday of Route 66 but very safe around there. I've been here many times and have done a thorough job of describing my pleasure in staying. Henry and Bo are still there and Delia still does a great... More

This vintage property is centrally located near the historic Old Town District and is meticulously maintained. As an added bonus it is quiet even though it is located on the very busy Central Avenue corridor, and the prices are quite reasonable.
