My husband and I visited for a murder mystery and stayed two nights. It was very exciting and interesting as we have never done a murder mystery before. But the best treat were the owners and their beautiful mansion. We stayed in the Louis XV room and I felt like we were at Versailles. I didn't want to leave the... More

We visited for a murder mystery week end.The mystery was poorly written and should be called a book reading. The breakfast and meal that are included with the mystery weekend price were cold and of poor quality. The inn is located in a very bad neighborhood. I guess that is why Ken and Francois lock the doors to the inn... More

It was the first visit to La Villa Romaine for my husband and I, and we both enjoyed it very much. From the moment we arrived, we recieved the most gracious welcome from Francoise who actually met us out front when we arrived. We were very impressed with the magnificent architecture and exquisitely decorated 1853 Italliante style mansion. But the... More

The house is in an area which needs some revitalization, but restoration has already begun on many area historical homes. We... More

My wife and I were on our way to DC and picked the La Villa out of the blue. The owners are very nice and gave us a grand tour of the house. They have both traveled and collected extensively from France and Germany and have decorated the house with their finds. They made us feel very welcome and we... More

We enjoyed our stay very much. The owners were very down to earth. They would go the extra mile and suggest places for dinner and make reservations. They were very knowledgable about the activities in and around petersburg. We are planning a return trip for one of the murder mystery weekends.
