We had a great time staying in the "Shiitake." Both our 7 year old and 15 year old thought it was super-cool. The treehouse was very cozy and I would recommend leaving suitcases in the car to save space. Yes, there is a toilet in the treehouse but there isn't a lot of privacy, just a wooden screen. It was... Five grown-up girls called "Shiitake" treehouse home for 3 summer nights in July. Although a tight fit, it was a blast. A real tree shoots right up the center of this treehouse and takes up prime real estate, but hey, this is "glamping." Climbing a sturdy ladder to a loft with a just enough headroom and 2 comfy double beds... More

Husband and I went here for a long weekend. It was a relaxing, peaceful retreat. At the end of the weekend, we really didnt want to leave! The tree houses are unique and very well maintained. The amenities provided are exceptional. We would definitely try to go back here. It is also very close to Oregon Caves, the Redwoods and... More

Great place to relax; experience tree house living and get spoiled! Phil and his crew make you feel welcomed and appreciated. He cooks up a great breakfast every morning! Each of the tree houses is unique but offers complete privacy and relaxation. The great things about camping without having to forgo the luxury of flowing water and electricity!!! Can't wait... More

We were on a 3000 mile, 8 day college road trip and I wanted to add some fun surprises along the way of the trip. One of my daughters wanted to camp, that not being realistic I came across Vertical Horizons, read the reviews on here and decided to give it a go. We could only stay for one night,... More

September 20th of this year we took our family of four to Oregon Caves. We thought staying in a tree house would be fun for our 13 and 11 year old. Although the Shitake( the largest) was nicely appointed...it was way too small to accommodate all four of us. The owners gave us a single mat and some thin blankets... More

Even though we've visited here before, we always enjoy our time in 'the Cottage'. The cabin is very clean, and the view of the surrounding mountains lovely. We've seen several deer while relaxing on our deck, as well as 10 wild turkeys. Each morning we walk to the main road and munch on blackberries that grow wild on the side... More

Our family of three stayed in Shiitake and had an amazing time. It is obvious that the owners take great pride in the property by the care of the tree house (it was immaculate) and the well cared for grounds. The breakfast was organic and locally sourced, and it was delicious. This is the place to go if you want... More

Stayed in Shiitake. Treehouses are built as sturdy as can be. Safe. Well decorated. CLEAN. Each are unique. The owners have thought of everything. All the comforts of a hotel room (minus the showers. showers in a seperate building) refridgerator, heater, tea kettle and electricity. This unit did not have internet yet. Not a problem for relaxing. But the main... More

This is a great place to find some peace and quiet...in the canopy of the trees! Phil, Jodi, and Cosmo are the perfects hosts of this beautiful property. We stayed two nights in the Calypso...nothing better than the huge trunk in the middle of the room! The treehouse was nicely equipped with real coffee/tea mugs, a electric teapot, instant coffee,...
