My husband and I just celebrated our anniversary in Salt Lake City. We stayed one night at a cozy bed and breakfast called the Inn on the Hill, which we had stayed in previously and had a great time. The staff was personal and friendly, the rooms were tastfully decorated and clean and the bathrooms even had robes for our... more

This hotel is AMAZING. The hotel looks like the Palace of Versailles and furnished with REAL antiques and quality furniture. The staff is extremely nice, non-pretentious, and goes out of their way to make your stay enjoyable. They try very hard. The rooms are beautiful and large. I stayed in a suite and had a huge whirlpool tub, separate living... more

I've traveled to many places and have had from awful to wonderful experiences with accomodations... and the Grand America is at the top of the "wonderful" list. I'm not sure what others here are complaining about regarding value, as I think it a great value myself... I suppose it is because there is no other hotel in the mountain west... more

My husband and I took our two young children to this hotel for a weekend stay. I had been to the hotel before for tea but this was my first time staying here. I read reviews that the hotel was "nice, but not worth the cost", and all I can figure is that there are some people who do not... more

Short stay here, great room, superb service and super food. The hotel and the courtyard are quite lovely. The only criticism was the appalling internet connection - excruciatingly slow, even using an Ethernet cable, most pages took 3-4 minutes to load. The wireless network could be detected but was not functional. I called to complain, but was told "there must... more

I stayed in a suite at this marvelous hotel and was extremely impressed with the size, cleanliness, and amenities in the room. The reception desk staff was consistently friendly and polite. The conference facilities are excellent and the restaurant was superb. My only criticism is that he hotel is not well signed and difficult to navigate. more

This place is way over priced. We stayed ther for valentines. They had a special that we bought 2 weeks in advance, which included dinner and breakfast. When I booked the reservation they said that we would be guarenteed to have a reservation because we had a room there and it was included in the package. When we arrived, this... more

Dear Traveler - The Valentine's Day package that was offered at the Grand included a $100.00 food credit to be used in any of our food and beverage outlets. Advance reservations were strongly recommended at the time of booking. I apologize for any miss understanding and the disappointment you experienced. The Grand America hotel has several color motifs from which...

I have stayed at this hotel a couple of times. While it is a bit expensive, it is indeed a grand hotel. I enjoyed staying here until my last visit. My room was already paid for by work. When I checked in, the staff asked for my credit card for incidentals. Having had issues with hotels authorizing crazy amounts on... more

While we are pleased this traveler would recommend us to a friend, we are disappointed frustration was experienced during any part of this stay. We do authorize $100 per day, for incidental charges. We are terribly sorry for the misunderstanding and the obvious inconvenience experienced by this traveler. No excuses - people expect the best from the Grand!

Wow - this hotel is beautiful. We missed our flight from Salt Lake back to Los Angeles, so we needed to find a hotel close to the airport. What a nice surprise! This hotel is glamorous and grand. They pay fine attention to detail with old world charm. Floor to ceiling marble adorns the lobby and hallways. English wool carpets... more

Stayed at this hotel for a conference in February, 2009 for 4 days. As you approach this hotel from a distance, it stands out. The hotel is almost castle like in appearance. Looks like you're pulling up to a palace. We were greeted by extremely attentive and genuinely friendly employees. You almost couldn't believe how thoughtful and attentive they were.... more
