On the main 101 Hwy through town this motel was clean and perfect for a single person seeking a reasonably priced alternative to the big chain operations. The only downside is no AC. This was not a problem for me, but if it got hot, you might think twice.

We needed a place for our family for one night. The Sportsman was the only place available and because the price was low, I was worried it would be a disappointment. It wasn't!!! The Sportsman was perfect. The rooms were spotless, the beds comfortable, the staff polite, and the location great!! We consider ourselves lucky to find this place and... More

Very clean and basic but probably well suited for sportsmen. Bed was noisy and not very comfortable. No ice machine available. Ice in room refrigerator very stale. But very nice staff. They obviously enjoy their clientele.

After traveling all day, we found this little motel on Trip Advisor and Yelp and decided to check it out because of the great reviews. We arrived late around 11pm, and I think I woke the desk clerk/(owner?). Since he didn't have a room available with two queen beds, I got two rooms with a king bed in each. At... More

I stayed 2 nights at Sportsman this July 2015. I was thrilled with the great value of this motel The room was spotlessly clean. The bathroom had a wonderful, roomy bathtub shower. The bed was comfortable for me. Unlike many motels, there was also two comfortable chairs and a small table. A microwave and little refrigerator were handy. Even though... More

Owner Jan was friendly when she checked me in. Room was very clean, retro bath was nice. Bed a bit firm for me, could use a foam topper. 80's furniture well maintained. Nice grounds outside, except for the drought. Jan came and told the noisy people to quiet down or she would kick them out. You gotta like that no... More

This motel was perfect for what it was, a night along the way to Olympic National Park. The room was clean, had cable, wifi, a microwave, a little fridge and let's not forget the price was absolutely acceptable for a motel. I would stay again and recommend it to anyone looking for a room on their journey. Do remember, it... More

The other reviews here really fooled me. I was way disappointed when I arrived here. Older typical row motel - NOT updated, with dead landscaping (except for some roses). I had a two bedroom unit with a kitchen, kitchen did not have a microwave. Very few electrical plugs throughout unit, NO available plugs in front room, all were used. Needed... More

We were driving from Seattle to First Beach, and decided to stop off in Port Angeles for the night. The reviews of the Sportsman were correct, in that despite its age, it is a very well kept motel. Everything is old, but everything works and is well maintained. The person staffing the desk was a bit abrupt with us about... More

My fiancee and I were in town for a 50th Wedding Anniversary party and had booked a double room at the Sportsman for one night with our 2 kids, knowing that the party house was going to be full and somewhat noisy into the wee hours of the following morning. First of all, the phone reservation process was a breeze;... More
