I cannot praise highly enough this venue and its managers and staff. Mel organised everything for us and all our requests were exceeded. We celebrated a 50th birthday bash on Halloween night - with decorations, costumes, themes etc - it was a magnificent night and one I will never forget. The accommodation was clean, food was perfect and entertainment was... More

Good accommodation perfect for both winter or summer time. Super atmosphare with the fireplace. One of the most magical places in the south island to spend a fwe days and relax. The outdoor spa adds that extra element. Great friendly staff and nice food. Highly recommended!

The staff were so accommodating towards us and our children, the options to keep the kids entertained were endless....I am looking forward to our next adventure there very very soon. stayed in the lodge and i was very surprised at how comfy the bed was. Great price! We didnt want to spend 'lots' on accommodation. Loved the relaxed atmosphere, the fire, the endless supply of marshmellows, our dinner was also yum

We just had a mini family reunion at Lyford and were so well looked after by the amazing staff I just have to write them a review. We had 20 in our group and the children were allowed to run and play all over. Great kids play room and food was no problem for them as well as adults. We... More

We stayed at the lodge just one night en route from the Picton ferry to Methven, but would happily have stayed longer. It had been a long day, and we received a warm welcome from Marcello (my daughter was quite taken with the way he sat down at our table like a friend when he took our orders). The food... More

A real log cabin set in the hills between Kaikoura and Hamner Springs in North Canterbury. Some interesting events make for a memorial stay, waking up to a mouse crawling through our luggage and creaks and groans from the building cooling down. However none of these would ever put me off staying here again. the staff and facilities are great.... More

We checked online for a place to call at on our journey. We found this lodge open 7 days a week all day. We arrived to find it was closed on Monday and Tuesday. Why did they not put this on the webste? Very disappointed!

Having stopped via crowded towns ALL FULL we travelled on with our little Grandson... winding roads through forests to come across Mt Lyford Lodge - what a beautiful surprise! This turned out to be our highlight stay, where we spoilt ourselves to wonderful surroundings, hosted by Marcello - very friendly & efficient. We felt very welcome, the food excellent too.... More

Absolute must for anyone looking for some peace and quiet. Stayed 3 nights on their small lawn all to our selves. Clean facilities, beautiful food, coffee and cocktails! Not to forget the great staff!! Our girls were easily entertained in the games room. Top spot.
