We recently stayed at 1842 Inn. This was our second visit. We had a lovely upstairs room. Our room was spacious with a desk and cozy chair. We had a small window that overlooked the courtyard below. The main House is just lovely. The gathering rooms are well appointed and inviting. There was a fire burning in the parlor, and... More

A road trip across the US from Dallas to Savannah and back via Indianapolis gave us some great experiences in out-of-the-way American cities and this was one. Gorgeous town and a lovely Inn. Not a mansion perhaps as we might know it but quaint and friendly where the stairs were creakier than my knees. Met some interesting people here in... More

Our first overnight stay in Georgia and the hosts welcomed us with homemade biscuits and tea in the parlour. Our room was very comfortable and quiet. The breakfast was excellent and made to order. The garden and house were impeccable.

My husband and I stayed at the 1842 Inn during one of his business trips. We were taken back by the beauty of the inn and the stellar service the employees provided to us. The food, especially the breakfast made for us, was absolutely delicious. We highly recommend anyone visiting Macon to stay here. The place and the employees are... More

It's not everyday you get to stay in a Mansion. Everything is great , the hostess Gloria makes you welcome from the very start . Location is excellent , the front Porch is fantastic and a great place to enjoy the whole streetscape . includes a cooked breakfast and you can purchase evening pre dinner drinks . If you are... Traveling south thru Atlanta is tiring, but we were rewarded with a pleasant overnight stay in Macon at The 1842 Inn. The room was gracious with high ceilings, ante-bellum styled furnishings, large room complete with a sitting area, delightful common areas, enthusiastically mixed drinks and hors d'oeuvres, comfortable King sized bed, and a delicious breakfast delivered to the room. Gloria... More

My mother and I stayed here on our way to Savannah. It was our first time to GA and we loved 1842. It was a beautifully restored home and the service was excellent. We stayed in the cottage and it was quiet, clean and the garden was beautiful to enjoy breakfast. The breakfast service was gorgeous and the food was... More

This place is great - nice and cozy, affordable AND they allow dogs! The staff is very welcoming and overall stay was good. If you are traveling through GA and looking for a B&B with character, this is your spot.

We had a delightful stay. The attention to details was exceptional. Breakfast was outstanding. We willl look forward to staying here again! The large apartment block next door was a non-item for us. Perhaps it might be in the summer, but the garden in the rear would keep your eyes busy! We walked down to a great restaurant, but took... More
