We had the Jefferson Davis Room and the mattresses were in sorry state - I couldn't find a spot where the springs were not digging into my ribs and/or hips. Breakfast, though, was lovely, and the buildings and grounds are indeed breathtaking.

We stayed at the 1842 Inn for 2 nights in March 2012. We were greeted by EJ and Emma.
They make you feel so welcome. Both are exactly what Southern hospitality should be.
After being showed our room we walked through the beautiful courtyard. On the covered front
porch you can enjoy hors d' oeuvres made by Emma that are...

We had the pleasure of staying at the 1842 Inn in April 2012. Everything about the Inn is lovely. The grounds, the building, the comfortable rooms, the furniture and the service. All the people who work at the Inn are friendly and extremely helpful. Our comfort was, honestly, their main concern.
The breakfast was very good and served in the...

We spent a single night at the 1842 Inn, and we would return. The old home is beautiful, the art work, furnishings and garden are very nice. Our room was a little small, but well appointed and comfortable. The bath was very nice. The attention from the staff was all you could hope for...very friendly, very helpful and obviously proud...

We decided to stay at the 1842 Inn On a trip from Florida to New York. Upon arriving at this stately manor we were warmly greeted by the hostesses and shown to our room. The room was in the main house on the second floor. It was spacious and beautifully decorated. There is a very large covered front porch with...

My wife and I stayed here for two nights in October 2011. We chose to stay here due to the TA ratings. On arrival we were pleasantly surprised and very happy with the Inn, it's location and the room. The puplic rooms are also beatufully furnished. We received a genuinely gracious and warm welcome from Joanna - She really is...

We stayed here for one night and wish it could have been longer just for the wonderful setting and the so friendly staff. It was just like being on the film set of Gone With the Wind. We had a very warm welcome and our room was lovely - very individual. Pre- dinner canapes were a nice surprise and eating...

The rooms were beautiful, luxuriously furnished. The house was stunning with many grandly appointed reception areas. Gloria and Joanna were very charming and helpful. Lovely tea with chocolates, quiches etc. offered to the guests. Good breakfast. Very good toiletries, bathroom robes, soft towels...and all the other amenities. Everything has been done very thoughtfully. Pity we could not stay longer.
Even if you have no reason to visit Macon, Georgia, you need to visit the 1841 Inn. As well as ticking all the usual boxes (location, comfort, amenities etc) this hotel ticks all the extraordinary and unusual boxes as well. Where else can you stay in a genuine antebellum mansion, surrounded by glorious antiques, living an elegant lifestyle from a...

For comfort and service, we highly recommend the 1842 Inn. The inn is conveniently located, yet in a quiet and safe location, and the staff makes you feel right at home. It is wonderfully decorated and well maintained, but could use just a dab of paint in a few places to bring back the full beauty of the rooms. Our...
