Would have given Sanbiz resort a good review but owner needs to lift his game with treatment of local staff. And l noticed a certain paranoi in response to previous negative reviews.Staff are great however owner has an autocratic manner and does not value his staff???

Hi Trevor This one seems to have come from left of centre - a review from 8 months ago... In fact I am a little flabbergasted if not offended about your comments regarding my relationship with our staff. I would like to invite you to come and interview our staff!, without any of my interference at all! Here's some facts:... More

I've just returned from my 5th trip to Sanbis (being based in Honiara) but this is the first time I've written on Trip Advisor, as my time in the Solomons is coming to an end soon.... I simply believe that Sanbis is the best resort in the Solomon Islands and I can say that with some confidence, having stayed at... More

Just got back from our honeymoon in the Solomon Islands, spent 4 nights at the Sanbis resort. Beautiful location! There is a over water bar with stunning views, you can jump straight off the jetty into the crystal clear waters! Snorkeling is very good! We also opted to take a trip to Olsana island which is a short boat trip... More

I have spent 6 days at the resort. There are six bungalows and a restoran and a bar. The place is very quiet and not crowded. The stuff is very very friendly. The food is very good. The accomodation is good. Those that seek perfect luxery may find few objections but those who seek true vacation, good relaxed holiday and... More

We just returned from 9 nights with our two children, 12 and 14. We had the family bungalow which was very comfotable and had a relaxing yet active holiday. Hans and his staff were were friendly and happy to help with anything we needed. Food was great - big portions and fresh! Everyone was happy with surfing, diving, and snorkelling.... More

Business – SOLO Had some business in Western Province but accommodation options in Gizo are limited so came to Sanbis as the other resort on the Island had been a let down last year. Airport collection is always a lovely way to start a visit to Gizo and there have been improvements to the runway and the wharf so it's... More

I have been to the Solomon Islands 14 times over the last 22 years, but this was my first visit to Sanbis. I should explain that I'm an independent TV producer I was in the Solomons to make a marketing DVD for their tourism department. I was very keen to visit Sanbis and was not disappointed when I arrived. The... More

This is a resort on an island a 10 minute boat ride from Gizo. It looks 'rustic' and has individual bungalows but they are not well equipped. There were no electrical sockets in our room and we had to charge our laptops/phones at the bar. This is OK but not really acceptable given the price of the accommodation. Food was... More

Dear Mr Wijemanne I cant find any records of you having stayed with us! Did you actually stay at Sanbis Resort or are you a friend of the fatboys owners - bagging us? It happened before that fatboys management posted a review about us and bragged to some friends of mine about it. Regardless, we have around 28% return guests... More

Visited here in mid November with a small group of 5 interested in doing some scuba diving. The Sanbis Resort is situated on a largish island with nice views and a fairly short boat ride from Ghizo airport. The bungalows each have a verandah looking out to sea and the cleanliness is fine. No air conditioning, just a very small... More

Dear Nautilus 127 I’m a little surprised and disappointed about your report, particularly your comment about the cost, seeing you haven’t had to pay for anything but alcoholic drinks. We quite often are visited by travel agents where the ink on their business cards is only just drying – asking for a free stay… as they apparently will send us... More

I was bored with Gizo and had an evening free so I thought I would visit Sanbis for dinner. The meal was superb and I was not disappointed. It was served near the bar area. I had fish cakes for starters, followed by a concoction of mixed pumpkin and fish soup and grilled fish which was excellent. Alice who worked... More
