Laid back piece of paradise in PNG. This place had everything we were looking for; outstanding diving, beautiful location, great (and plentiful) food and friendly, helpful staff! We booked Lissenung for the diving and decided, a month beforehand, to also have our wedding here. Dietmar was the consummate host -he put on a ceremony that was over the top! Native... More

Lissenung stands out from the crowd. Who wouldn’t be left swooning by its romance, beauty, charm and privacy? Thanks to her owners, Dietmar and Ange, a charismatic and down-to-earth couple who love what they do and do it exceedingly well. Here's the lowdown: Setting: Picture Robinson Crusoe meets mouth-watering meals and awesome coffee! This gorgeous island is big enough to... More

A group of us went to Lissenung on a dive holiday. Some of us had a great time but a couple had a different trip. The staff are all from the local village and were all very pleasant but quiet Firstly, Lissenung is a remote little island that relies on mother nature for water for us to shower and wash... More

It's quite a trip from Europe, but worth it. A small white sandy beach isle surrounded by a turquoise sea. Resort with bungalows without A/C but we never missed it. Two big opposite open windows with anti-mosquitoes nets let the air pass through the room during the night. We didn't have high humidity climate during our stay. Room was well... More

My husband and I have just returned from Lissenung Island Resort and LOVED IT! We stayed in room 3 and it was perfect, after a morning of diving a quick nanna nap was required and we always had a breeze in our room. Talking to others their rooms did not get the breeze. Winning! We got to met some wonderful... More

We went with 6 people from Adelaide Australia, Lots of flights and a boat trip out to the island, but well worth it. I have just come back from a 5 day stay on the island in July 2015 On my return I thought I would check the reviews on the site. Pretty well all the positive comments are all... More

This is the tiniest island I've been on- you can literally walk around it in 15mns. This is a very chilled out place but make sure you bring on some good books to read. If you don't like diving, fishing or snorkelling don't come here as that's all you get to do. In regards to the diving, this is a... More

I stayed here with a university group in 2013 around August, and it is absolutely incredible. The staff were all amazing (especially those dive guides who had to be pretty switched on in some of the current dives we did!) and the accommodation itself was beautiful. The island is so secluded and watching the sun rise and set, as well... More

Yes, the diving is tremendous. But remember, this is PNG. Getting there isn't easy - hardcore divers are accostumed to it. Plus, getting some modern conveniences often taken for granted, like wi-fi, drugstores, real cheeses (Kraft and Cheddar don't count) is not possible. But the staff will make the most to accommodate your preferences, and in fact they serve the... More

Hi David, Thank you so much for your lovely comments! You are so right, it is very difficult to run a business to most standards in PNG, but that only adds to the adventure, right? We are stoked that you loved our food!! At Lissenung, we believe a holiday is not just time off from work, but also from every... More
