We had read so many wonderful reviews on Trip Advisor about Ribbonwood Retreat so we were looking forward to our stay and it certainly didn't disappoint, in fact was one of the best B&Bs we stayed in whilst we were in NZ. When we arrived we were made to feel so welcome, felt like a real home away from home... More

We spent one night at Ribbonwood en route to Wanaka. The B&B is in a beautiful setting with views towards the glacier. Jonathan was very hospitable and slices of Julie's fruit cake on arrival was a nice touch. As we were the only guests we were offered the cottage behind the main house. This was a good choice. It has... More

We were offered an upgrade to the cottage as were were the only guests staying. Cottage is an understatement as it is a beautifully equipped cabin with contemporary design and superb views towards the setting sun. Jo and Julie were very helpful and great to talk to and breakfast was taken in the main house and was excellent. Just to... More

We stayed two nights on the top floor (two room plus a bath). We loved the rooms; we loved the breakfast; we loved the location; and we loved the hosts. Jo and Julie went out of their way to entertain us, give us tour advice, and accommodate our breakfast needs. The entire place was especially clean and well kept.

We stayed four nights at Ribbonwood retreat on a recent 5 week tour of New Zealand. The cottage is beautifully furnished and we loved the views from the decking. Breakfasts were excellent and set us up well for a day's walking. It was good to meet and chat with other guests over the breakfast table. Julie and Jo were the... More

We stayed two nights at Ribbonwood Retreat on a recent three-week trip around New Zealand. As other reviewers have indicated, Julie and Jo are gracious hosts, who offer you a drink and snacks on arrival, and are always ready to make a dinner reservation or weigh in on local attractions. The house itself is just off the main road a... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our 2 night stay in the cottage. It is beautifully furnished and equipped and offers lovely views in a peaceful setting. Our hosts Julie and Jo were very friendly, helpful and informative about the local area. The breakfasts were yummy too. It would be difficult to find 2 better hosts. We are very glad that we chose...
