We booked twin room and the bed rack in the middle is sinked and at the end i have to removed the maitress to the floor. Overall pretty old hostel that need to have some maintenance and upgrade. Only good thing is the hot tub and free soup for dinner.

Visited in the summer - extremely quaint and quiet, you get what you paid for in terms of facilities. Great couple runs the place and there were adorable sheep grazing the fields outside! Cooked our own dinner in their kitchen (there was no food at all on sale) and we tucked in early for Rangitata Rafts the next day

Chateau Franz is in an easy location and the staff is super friendly and helpful - they are the best part about it. Our motel room was comfortable. It can get a bit noisy in the morning as people head out for the day.
