Definitely the worst accommodation we have ever stayed in. The whole place was out-dated and in need of major renovation. We stayed here on the 4th of March with a group of friends. The first two rooms were so damp and moldy smelling that I feared for everyones health. This motel was dirty, smelly and the most expensive. The curtains were all moulding and rotten. The bedding looked worn and dirty. All advertising is false. Even as far as where it was placed on the Franz Josef map. I had the map of the motel printed out before we arrived and it was located in the center of town.... More

Stayed overnight enroute from Westport to Queenstown and were disappointed with this mediocre motel complex, which certainly needs a complete revamp. Our room was adequate, but everything from the electrics to the furnishings was dated and tired.

The bridge on the only road between Greymouth and Franz Josef collapsed and we had no way of getting to the hotel. Stayed here with my family over Christmas day. Below average rooms and amenities. The whole estate can do with a revamp. Old furnishing, uncomfortable beds and infested with mosquitoes. Unfortunately wi if reception is bad in New Zealand so we were unable to check this place out on trip advisor before we booked. Old damp, musty rooms. Clean but the smell is awful. Beds are the most uncomfortable I have ever slept in. All I can say is don't stay here.
