We stayed in Westwood Lodge for one night during the winter season. Despite the terrific location near to Franz Josef, there were some inconsistencies during our brief stay. All the exposed wood was wonderful. We had a room in the building out front with a patio with a view of the glacier (photo included). The room was huge and the breakfasts great. Although Westwood Lodge resembles a motel, it really is quality accommodation. We were a bit surprised by the appearance as it is quite expensive to stay here. We were there for 2 days and it rained almost the whole time BUT it was wonderful sitting in the large was a large fireplace and large windowns and confortable couches. Our pine lodge was roomy,well designed and very comfortable. It is set back from the highway in lovely gardens so was quiet and relaxing. It is a short car ride to Franz Josef to the glacier and restaurants(Beeches was great). Paul and Kaz were helpful hosts. more
