The house is a lovely old building with lovely gardens. The bedrooms are roomy and comfortable. Bernie is very helpful, including carrying my bags. My only small grouse is that you have to go to the kitchen to get a cup of tea, not great if you ant to go back to bed with it. Gerard cooks the breakfast. Good... More

Steve and I { from christcurch } stayed at the Holly Homestead for one night after our glacier trek. It's fabulous. The grand homestead is set on rural land but still only minutes from the township and the Hot Pools. It is beautifully restored to the finest quality . There are great views of the landscape and horses in the... More

The house is stunning - a time warp back to the 20s/30s with fabulous rooms and bathroom to match. We had a large free standing style bath it looked wonderful and matched the looks of the room, everyone was so friendly and so helpful I would highly recommend this hotel.

We enjoyed a one night stay at this wonderful accommodation, which is perfectly situated to tour the glaciers. Our host, Bernie, was incredibly helpful with our plans and reservations, and we regret that we only had one night to stay.

We stayed two nights in the gorgeous suite with awesome views. Bernie and Gerard, the owner,s maintain an immaculate home and B&B. They are full of hospitality, helpful hints, and delicious breakfasts and cocktail hours.

Bertie and Gerard exude hospitality from every pore. From breakfast through to recommendations through to a glass of port at night, they are always waiting The house is charming. We opted for the suite and were not disappointed. A sitting area comes complete with fridge, cutlery and plates along with coffee/tea making facilities and TV. There is a bathroom with... More

We stayed here for one day during our honeymoon. The B&B is luxurious and pleasant with a countryside charm. The owners were extremely friendly and welcoming, giving us plenty of advice and a welcoming drink. The cooked breakfast in the morning was just the right thing we needed to help us set out again on our journey. Because the place... More

Very well situated on outskirts of Franz Josef. We were greeted by our hostess, shown to our lovely bedroom and invited to enjoy tea and homemade biscuits in the lounge. After dinner we enjoyed a glass of complimentary port in the homely lounge with our fellow guests. Good breakfast again shared with the other guests. We enjoyed the conversation with... More

When we arrived at Holly Homestead B&B, Bernie (the owner) was very welcoming. On the way to the room she informed us that she upgraded us to the suite. While the first impression of house and owner was really good, this made us very happy! The rooms were beautifully decorated with great attention to detail, which gave them a personal... More

We loved our two-day stay at Holly Homestead. The place is absolutely beautiful with large well furnished rooms and modern bathroom facilities. You must take notice of the magnificent wood throughout the house, walls, ceilings, doors, etc., and the many furnishing that appear to be made of the same beautiful wood. You will likely be met by Bernie who will... More
