My wife and I visited the Scenic Hotel as part of a tour around New Zealand. It proved to be a highlight of our trip. We were greeted warmly, and very professionally. Rooms were small but clean. Rooms seemed to be in long huts and you had to walk for a short way outside to reach the main reception and restaurant. Evening meal was good as was the buffet breakfast. Staff were friendly. There is not much to see in the small settlement which caters for the tourists visiting the glaciers.

I was a bit concerned on booking this hotel giving some of the negative reviews. But we had nothing to worry about.. it sounds like it has just been renovated, very good finish. Staff very helpful. Breakfast the next day was great.

After a long trip through rain fog and snow it was a comfortable haven. Clean rooms close to shops. Nice restaurant with friendly staff.

This hotel is not by any means a very exciting hotel, but it does serve its purpose. I must say the hotel restaurant served 5 star food. It was a nice surprise.
