We spent 2 nights in Fox Glacier at this Hotel. The town is smaller that Franz Josef but still close enough, and we used it as a base to visit both. The hotel is comfortable and the attention by the owners is very good. It's not located in the town itself but close. We didn't have the opportunity to eat... More

I don't ski, let's get that out of the way, and I stayed at this hotel during off-peak (no skiing) season. The hosts are very, very nice. My fiance and I had arrived very late in the evening after spending the whole day in the car driving to Fox Glacier. The host was kind enough to open up the bar... More

We stayed one night. The restaurant was closed and we were recommended to go out to a restaurant for dinner. We were traveling with my old parents and unfortunately, my father got sick at night. The host was very helpful and we got a registered nurse visited to the hotel and we managed to move to the next location. Without... More

I stayed here for 3 nights in April. I picked Fox over Franz Josef as a quieter option. It was that. One thing to note when coming to the glaciers - the weather changes quickly so you may not get to do everything if you only stay 1 night. I was cancelled a lot on the heli-hikes because of clouds.... This hotel is located just outside of the centre of Fox Glacier which is ideal if you want a slightly quieter location as we did. The rooms are comfortable and there is a restaurant on site that overlooks the mountains. The host is a qualified chef, and the food was outstanding, and the staff extremely friendly with a huge amount... More

We stayed for two nights, the owners were very helpful. Breakfast and evening meals were excellent, nothing was too much trouble. Views of the snow covered mountains were lovely, we asked Marlene about the helicopter trips to the glacier which she arranged for us, this was a great experience. The room was clean and well equipped, this hotel was on... More

Hotel is quite near the city centre and has a view of the mountains, but frankly we got a bit depressed as the hotel felt quite deserted. There weren't a lot of people staying at the High Peaks. Felt a bit gloomy. There are a couple of bigger hotels near High Peaks, not sure of how expensive they are but... More

We were here 2 nights. Great view from the restaurant of the peaks when not fogged in. Clean, tidy, nice room. The food was also much better than anticipated. Most important to us was the caring and attentive service. My wife was ill and as a result had some severe dietary restrictions. Marlene and our chatty waitress went far beyond... More

Breakfast time at High Peaks was the only time we were able to see the tops of the mountains in our two days in Fox Glacier! The views are excellent until the low clouds appear...in our case, by about 8:30 in the morning...and stay all day. We were there in mid-February. The room was very clean and serviceable, similar to... More
