We stayed here for just one night on the way to Aoraki Mount cook. The hot pools are just across the road but since we didn't have bookings it was unavailable for the same day. Huge space for parking, everything nearby, convenient location. They have a game room very close to the reception. We played pool almost until midnight with... More

Interior is very old and dated, slightly whiffy but tolerable!, but rooms are spacious. Young guy at reception was helpful and friendly. OK value, but there is newer accommodation in town for similar price that is significantly superior. There is also worse accommodation that is more expensive! It's a small town so in busy periods if my preferred accommodation is... More

Wasn't expecting much given the location, but a hot shower would be nice! The bathtub has one of those old separate cold and water tap, which is not the issue. The problem was when I switched to shower mode, there was no hot water! In addition, the air con, which didn't work, was making weird noises throughout the night.

this place is disgusting, looked ok from the outside until you set foot through the front door where the place smells musty and looks dirty.after checking in we approached our room and walked in, smelt like it hadn't been touched for about 30years, the windows were filthy inside and out, there was squashed bugs on the ceiling, there was spider... It may be that we were in town the night of the rodeo...but...we paid $250 for a small room with a small double bed, a noisy fridge and a barely adequate shower. We were told that this was a standard rate for this time of the year and that in the off season it is half the price. Even at... More

The Country Time Hotel is old, but not in a charming way! As soon as we walked in I thought hmmm...not good. The first room we saw was on the second floor and much as we had asked for a queen was only a double and a twin...so we switched...but not before noticing that the room smelt musty and the... More

Our room is very tired, smelly and not very clean. The beds are saggy and old. I've had to move into the single bed because the double bed is so dipped in the middle my husband and I just kept rolling into the middle. It is very noisy (12 pm) slamming doors and other guests outside under our window talking... More

We were on a 10 day trip celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary. The location, the food, the staff, were superb. Yes, it is tired and in need of refurbishment, but it was absolutely clean, tidy & spacious. The meals (breakfasts & dinners) were excellent. The staff were sooooo helpful and friendly. We had a lot to do with Shona &... More

I stayed there for nearly three weeks, standards never slipped despite being very busy. The rooms were clean and tidy, consistently good food, the staff were always friendly. Great views towards the Benmore ranges and lots of room to park. Close to town, maybe all of five minutes walk away. Being winter, the hotel was always comfortably warm inside, fires... More

We like the country style. The grounds is spacious and so are the rooms. The place is clean and it has everything that we needed. The food is good. It has the best blue cod fish and chip in the country and the freshest salad. Generally the food is very good all round and it is not too expensive. Sure,... More
