Beautiful, friendly, clean, bright, warm. The owners are very friendly, she is an amaaazing cook. They actually have a little restaurant next to the hostel with a delicious menu that they change every month I think. Also they bake muffins and cakes all the time, first piece is free! They have a lot of puzzles and games, dvds, book exchange,... More

We were travelling as a group of 5 and decided to stay over in murchison for a night to break up the journey down south. We phoned up on the day of arrival and they were happy to help. Our room was very clean, warm and comfortable. Electric blankets were provided but were not needed as it was so cosy... More

Being a hostel owner and manager myself I can be pretty fuzzy about other hostels. This place however is just great. It's small, intimate, clean and indeed very cozy with a great kitchen and lounge. The managers and owners are friendly and welcomming. The only thing that I disliked was that I couldn't sample their restaurant as it was closed... More

We stayed in the Clover room which had a double + single ensuite for $84 which was higher than the other BBHs we stayed in which also had better facilities. Our room was large, with a DVD player in room. I don't know how many people stay there but the kitchen looked pretty small, although it was well-equipped. They had... More

Very warmly welcomed by the new staff, they are right for the job. I very quickly felt at home. Since the other guests were welcomed warmly, they were very hospitable to me, too. I liked my bedroom -Daisy with a bathroom right next door, although new carpets and more modern decor would greatly enhance it. I was very pleased to... More

Really loved our time at the Lazy Cow, from the warm welcome from Ryan and Christine, to the free and unbelievably delicious cake aswell as the puzzles and DVDs to chill out with, couldn't ask for more in a hostel. We had passed through Murchison before not knowing much about the place but once we decided to stay here at... More

The Lazy Cow Back Packers and Cafe - its really worth going out of your way for. We had a lovely room leading on to the deck which included an en suite bathroom. The chocolate cake was delicious and a really treat to have with a late lunch. However the best was yet to come - dinner at the cafe... More

Most people probably use Murchison as a stopover just as I did. The more suprising it is to find such a gem there! The Lazy Cow is nice and clean and offers a HUGE bathroom (which is fairly rare at hostels) with lovely owners.
