This hotel was clean and the bed was comfy. It is close to to the main shopping areas. The kitchenette and bathroom are old and dated, a bit smelly, but clean. Good for and overnight stay. The staff were friendly and helpful.

We have stayed for 5 nights at the Wayfarer Motel, and mostly because everything else was packed (busy time between Christmas and New Year). As mentioned before, the only good thing about it is the location (Kaitaia): 1.5 hour to Cape Reinga, 1.5 hour to Paihia (gate to Bay of Islands) and 4 quick hours to Auckland CBD. The room... More

The motel is on the main road, handy to most things in Kaitaia. The rooms are 3 star but clean and well presented. Found some hair in the shower upon my arrival. Bed is comfortable good TV with lots of sky channels. For the price of a room its good value for money. The breakfasts are good didn't one this... More

The rooms were nice and the beds very comfy. The staff were very friendly but the advertised free internet was only in the small reception area amd you had to pay for wifi according to the in house literature. Not so good for a rep. Nice spa and a great breakfast.

We stayed for three nights at the Wayfarer Motel and wouldn't hesitate to stay there again. Rose was very welcoming and was a great help with suggestions about places to go to eat, to see, and things to do. The tour to Cape Rianga up 90 Mile Beach that Rose booked for us was a highlight of our trip. The... More

We booked at very short notice for a one night stay and were accommodated with no hassle. We found our unit to be spacious and very clean. The kitchen was well equipped and the beds were comfortable. The trampoline and basket ball hoop were a big hit with our 8 year old. The service was friendly and welcoming. We'd stay... More

Well located on the main highway, clean room, and spacious . The room rate was ok at $125 but the continental breakfast was another $20 for two and the wifi was extra so in total the room wasn't that cheap!

Thank you so much Dave and Rose for your support and very friendly welcome - your facilities were really comfortable and clean and so handy to shops and restaurants. I would not hesitate to stay there again - you are both amazing hosts, you made our stay there most relaxing and there was always a smile to greet us daily... More

We had a pleasant enough stay but it is very dated and slightly overpriced in this day and age of grab a deal. The beds were very uncomfortable and hard and the neighbours in the lodge next door were very noisy one night. It was pleasant enough but a lot could be done to improve it and there is little... Kaitaia is what it is. You are out in the boonies if you are headed up to Cape Reinga. But it is good to know what to expect. The hotel is older & dated but it is clean & tidy & that is the main thing. It costs more than a similar hotel in the US but that's all I... More
