Stayed in this motel for 3 nights during February and thoroughly enjoyed the hospitality. Stayed in an upstairs room which had usual amenities and double bed with extra single bed. Also had decking area to front and back for relaxing. For anyone touring New Zealand north island this motel is the ideal stopover.Close to 90 mile beach and various attractions the... More

We stayed here for two nights. We were late arriving on the first night but the owner kept the restaurant open for us to have dinner. The room was comfortable. The onsite restaurant food and service impeccable. Hats off to Pete (and he has plenty) for a well run ship.

Quite a comfortable room. Our host very friendly and helpful. Recommended in our 2005 Lonely Planet Guide, but carpet etc in main part of motel looking a bit tired, but our room quite well appointed. Stayed here for the night between camping in basic DOC camps,so a bit of luxury, with king size bed , good hot shower etc. We chose... More

The rooms are very good value and relatively spacious. The staff were very helpful and gave excellent advice. The dinner was high class and I very much recommend any one eating there as the food would not be out of place in a much higher quality restaurant. It made up for the town as Kaitia has little else to recommend.

This place is ok for a stopover or as a base to go and explore Ninety Mile Beach. the rooms are fairly basic and tired. However, the staff are very friendly and make you feel welcome and looked after. There is not much to the town of Kaitaia; it doesn't seem set up for tourists like other places in Northland,... This property is fairly sparce for cooking in -microwave only and no cutlery or crockery but they have restaurant on site. The room is two small rooms with two bathrooms. We liked this the most. Although the place is dated it has adequate rooms and amenities including pool & spa for your stay. The beds are comfortable, the room dark... More

Agree with other reviewers, the rooms are a bit dated and there are some odd features. We had what was essentially two old units connected together. This gave us two rooms with two showers and bathrooms - which was great. We arrived on a hot summers day and found the room pleasantly cool, and very close to the swimming pool... More

The rooms and decor are stuck in the 70's and are in need of a makeover. That said the rooms were tidy enough and I had a comfortable nights sleep. The staff are friendly and helpful but could do with a little more training. Although the dinners are expensive they are very generous and delicious. I agree with another reviewer who... More
