Upon pulling into Kaitaia early evening we walked into Orana for accommodation and was given 2 rooms at a special price well done Orana. Although it was a older Motor Inn it was very clean quite and pleasant, plus free wi fi. What a pleasant surprise the Restaurant was Fantastic service and exceptional food.

Wasn't too bad a place to stay..............a bit dated but was adequate...Kaitaia isn't the most picturesque of towns in NZ and has a bit of a backward feel to it. Most of the shops on the main street (those that are still open) are secured at night with steel doors and grating...not a good sign about the crime level!!.....room was... More

We stayed here as part of a 4 week tour of New Zealand. It was our second stop after leaving Auckland and weren’t really sure what to expect. We’d read lots of information that said that the Motels in New Zealand were really good quality and based on the Trip Advisor ratings, we booked one night. We arrived quite late... More

Stayed in this motel for 3 nights during February and thoroughly enjoyed the hospitality. Stayed in an upstairs room which had usual amenities and double bed with extra single bed. Also had decking area to front and back for relaxing. For anyone touring New Zealand north island this motel is the ideal stopover.Close to 90 mile beach and various attractions the... More

We stayed here for two nights. We were late arriving on the first night but the owner kept the restaurant open for us to have dinner. The room was comfortable. The onsite restaurant food and service impeccable. Hats off to Pete (and he has plenty) for a well run ship.

Quite a comfortable room. Our host very friendly and helpful. Recommended in our 2005 Lonely Planet Guide, but carpet etc in main part of motel looking a bit tired, but our room quite well appointed. Stayed here for the night between camping in basic DOC camps,so a bit of luxury, with king size bed , good hot shower etc. We chose... More

The rooms are very good value and relatively spacious. The staff were very helpful and gave excellent advice. The dinner was high class and I very much recommend any one eating there as the food would not be out of place in a much higher quality restaurant. It made up for the town as Kaitia has little else to recommend.
