We had a one night stay as we were visiting Kaitaia again. Our hosts were lovely, and our breakfast was excellent. Plane Tree lodge would be a good base to explore from, it is handy to Kaitaia. I'm from the region, and I would not recommend staying in Kaitaia itself, there are so many peaceful places like Plane Tree you... More

This was definitely a great place to stay at. Was greeted by Mike and Rosemary who were very friendly but the greatest surprise were Polly and Jenna (their 2 dogs) whom were very friendly and cute. The accomodation and facilities were very warm and homely - Made us feel at home and very tidy. The surroundings were nice and fresh... More

As soon as we arrived we were warmly welcomed and made to feel so much at home. Mike and Rosemary were excellent hosts, the accommodation was faultless and the conversation a joy to be had. The breakfasts were substantial and very tasty and we left Plane Tree Lodge feeling that we had made new friends.

A warm and friendly welcome awaited us on our arrival at Plane Tree Inn, with hot chocolate served in front of the fireplace. The ensuite bedrooms and guest lounge were upstairs. Breakfasts were delicious and substantial. On the second evening, we had a home cooked dinner with our hosts and enjoyed great food and great conversations. Mike and Rosemary were... More

This B&B was in a quiet country setting that felt like home. Our hosts, Mike and Rosemary were two of the most congenial people we met on our trip to NZ. When we arrived, we were greeted warmly by Mike, offered refreshments and made to feel instantly at home. We had many laughs and delightful discussions about the state of... More

We loved our stay here, super location. Rosemary and Mike welcomed us into their home with tea, coffee and homemade cake on arrival. Rosemary’s dinner was delicious and Mike was a brilliant orator who kept us entertained over dinner, the perfect hosts. Breakfast was great and set us up for the day. Highly recommended. Rosemary and Mike Wright have a beautiful home in New Zealand's Northland. Their warm welcome and amazing hospitality made the wonderful house into a real home. The lodge is easy to find, has full en-suite facilities, and the Wrights make a great breakfast!

We arrived at about 4pm to a welcome cuppa and intro by Mike "Hope you can join us this evening for a BBQ" The evening was spent in company of Mike, Rosemary, an American couple and a French sea captain and wife who provided the wine and cooked the steaks. A very interesting and enjoyable evening and after a wonderful... More

This is an ideal place to stay to explore the far north of New Zealand. Rosemary and Mike were very welcoming and hospitable and were a good source of advice on restaurants and places to visit. The breakfasts were excellent.
