Pleasant staff, gorgeous grounds, so clean and quiet. Pub and cafe 2 mins away..... Loved our break and will definitely return there again. Hahei beach was great -we went for a winter retreat. Enjoyed the Macadamia plantation, hot water beach, and the wineries over by cooks beach, an easy drive

Cosy, clean, nice for backpackers or couples... Very well located, near Cathedral Cove, Hot Water Beach, and Whitianga. Because it was raining so much, we stayed longer than planned in the lounge, but we still had a good time !

Tatahi lodge is probably the best hostel I've stayed in all trip!! The location is perfect for local sightseeing and because it is small in size you're pretty much guaranteed to find day out buddies to join you! The beds are the comfiest I've had if a little high on top bunks and the fact that everyone's dorm doors were... More

Of the several backpackers we stayed in during our New Zealand trip, this was by far the best. Arrived after hours but were still warmly welcomed and given advice on where to eat. We stayed in a private double room with shared bathroom facilities. We were delighted with our room, nicely furnished and a very comfortable bed. The bathroom and... More

We booked a 4 person bunk room in the backpackers section of Tatahi Lodge for two nights. Upon arrival, we were quickly upgraded to two private rooms which we really appreciated. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and beautifully constructed of timber. A bathroom and toilet were shared among the three private rooms. Towels were provided as well as a portable... More

We rented a garden cottage for a one-night stay. We were impressed with how clean the cottage was and the beds were very comfy. Because we had an early morning kayak tour, we called and asked for a late check-out of 1 pm. The manager said that he couldn't accommodate our request, which we understood, but he offered for us... We stayed here for two nights as a mini-getaway from Auckland to check out Hot Water Beach and Cathedral Cove, and Tatahi Lodge is in the perfect location to explore both. Our studio unit was extremely clean and the staff was friendly and welcoming, and also offered helpful information about the local attractions- and gave us towels and a spade... More

I was really impressed with the quaint community of Hahei located perfect between the Hot Water Beach and Cathedral Cove. We spent two nights in the cottage and it is very large and gives you plenty of room to spread out and relax. Dinners cooked on the BBQ was wonderful and we moved at our pace rather than being concerned... More

We travelled here from Auckland after a long-haul flight, and it was the perfect place to spend a few days to unwind. We had booked for two nights, but loved it so much that we stayed for another. This meant that we had to move to a studio, which was a bit cramped after the Villa!

What a beautiful treat this place was. Hahei is small and lovely and this fantastic complex fit right in. The property and the interior of the room were amazingly stylish and colorful, which was a welcome surprise. In our room we had an elaborate tea and snack table and a large bathroom. There was even a shovel available for free... More
