Firstly Tatahi Lodge is in one of the world's best locations - Hahei is a magical spot. So fantastic to be able to enjoy the area while staying in such a welcoming and clean Lodge - everything you need is provided, including spades for digging pools at Hot Water Beach! Wonderfully central with only a short walk to a neat... More

I stayed in Tatahi lodge for 2 nights, it was nice and clean. You can borrow free spade and towel for hot water beach. The staff will be unhappy if you still use the kitchen when the day you check out (well normally it's ok). Internet cost $5 per day.

My sister and I stayed in our own little cabin as a part of a G Adventures tour group. We were very impressed with the well-kept grounds, impeccably clean rooms and the fact that you had thought of every detail to be sure we were comfortable. We wish we had stayed more than one night! Thanks for the shovels provided... More

I stayed in the 6-bed backpacker which was tidy and clean, enough room for my suitcase. Kitchen and bathroom were clean too. Bus stop and cafe was just 2 minutes walk and you can reach the beautiful Hahei beach in 5 minutes. A good place to stay if you would like to visit Cathedral Cove and Hot Water Beach!

Rooms were clean, bunks were huge, and bedding was the best we've had yet! The people we met here were fantastic and the locals gave us amazing recommendations. Staff helped us do everything we wanted and more! I would go back in a heartbeat!!

Pleasant staff, gorgeous grounds, so clean and quiet. Pub and cafe 2 mins away..... Loved our break and will definitely return there again. Hahei beach was great -we went for a winter retreat. Enjoyed the Macadamia plantation, hot water beach, and the wineries over by cooks beach, an easy drive

Cosy, clean, nice for backpackers or couples... Very well located, near Cathedral Cove, Hot Water Beach, and Whitianga. Because it was raining so much, we stayed longer than planned in the lounge, but we still had a good time !

Tatahi lodge is probably the best hostel I've stayed in all trip!! The location is perfect for local sightseeing and because it is small in size you're pretty much guaranteed to find day out buddies to join you! The beds are the comfiest I've had if a little high on top bunks and the fact that everyone's dorm doors were... More

Of the several backpackers we stayed in during our New Zealand trip, this was by far the best. Arrived after hours but were still warmly welcomed and given advice on where to eat. We stayed in a private double room with shared bathroom facilities. We were delighted with our room, nicely furnished and a very comfortable bed. The bathroom and... More
