A trip into the jungle is maybe a once in a lifetime experience. The guides and the staff at Sank Lodge know how to make it unforgettable!!! No matter if you are a nature lover, of cultural interest or an ornithologist, the local guides know their environment and have a big knowledge of culture, fauna and flora learned over decades... After a 2.5 hour power boat ride in a very simple "canoe" that carried about 18 passengers, then a 1 km walk through the forest, then a 30 minute paddled canoe (12 passengers), we arrived!! What an experience just getting there!! We were welcomed warmly by the management, offered a welcome drink and given an overview of the area and... More

My husband and I spent five nights and six days at Sani Lodge and had a wonderful experience. Three of the nights we were at the lodge and two camping. The lodge, camping and food was great. Only upon our return to Coca did we fully grasp just how remote and deep in the jungle we were - and the... More

It is hard to know what was the best part of our experience: the remoteness of the camping area, the employees of the lodge or the fact that all proceeds from the lodge go to the native community. We stayed in the camping area because the cabins at the lodge were full, but that experience was truly a once in... More

We visited this amazing lodge for 3nights and 4days and it wasn't long enough. The serenity of Sani Lodge is a reason to go but the sights and sounds of the jungle are amazing. We saw caimans, a harpy eagle, several types of monkeys, tarantulas, spiders, bugs and even caught a piranha. The parrot lick visit is an extra fee but... More

If you are looking for a remote comfortable lodge in the middle of the Amazon jungle this is the ideal place to go. The buildings are charming and the staff is very friendly and helpful. The local indigenous people own and operate the facility. Our guide, Javier, was the quintessential indigenous guide. He was born and raised locally and educated... More

My husband and I spent 3 nights here. We had a bi-lingual guide (Jose) and a local naturalist (Jaison) who were with us the entire time. They were the best!! The days outings were based on our interests, not a set itinerary. Our cabin was very comfortable, with screen walls, fan, mosquito net over the bed, private bath. The food... More

This was one of my very best Amazon experiences (having been to others in the area). The ideal combination of a rustic-styled yet comfortable and well-serviced jungle Lodge, entirely ran by the local Kichwa community of Sani with the amazing natural surrroundings of the Amazon rainforest was truly unique. Reaching the Lodge on a three-hour boat ride down the Napo... More
