Getting to and from this wonderful place is an adventure in itself - 4 hours by motor boat and canoe down the Napo River and it's tributary - by so worth it. The lodges are simply furnished and have lovely hammocks on each decking. Our only problem was the terrible smell of our pillows, but this was sorted as soon... More

We spent 3 nights at the lodge. It was a wonderful and learning experience. The 4 hour canoe ride to the lodge was anything but boring. We saw all kinds of wildlife on the way in, including sloths, monkeys, birds, frogs, and escorted in by a 13 foot caiman. The lodge was clean, food excellent, and our daily excursions exhilarating.... More

We stayed at this lodge for 4 days at the beginning of March, 2014. I can't say enough about how positive our experience was - comfortable accommodations, great food, wonderful guides. We saw incredible vegetation and wildlife during the daily canoe rides and hikes. One of the highlights was climbing to the platform atop a kapok tree and looking down... More

Our group of 3 had a fantastic 5 day trip here in March 2014. Other reviews have detailed the wide array of wildlife and birds we saw from the paddle boats and in the jungle walks. The fact that the local community - the Anangu tribe, part of the Kichwa nation - agreed to stop hunting and fishing 15 years... More

This was my second stay at Napo Wildlife Center, which speaks for itself. The first time I went there 1 year ago, in January 2013. I liked it so much that I decided to go there for the second time but this time, with a private guide. This trip to Ecuador (this was my fifth visit to this truly amazing... More

I visited with my family-4 teenage boys and we could not have had a more wonderful experience. Since we went I have recommended it to 5 other families who have all also loved it. Everything about it was perfect and fulfilled our idea of what a jungle adventure should be like- right from the beginning of the river journey. Our... More

There were so many incredible things about my stay at the Napo Wildlife Center it's hard to know where to start so I guess I'll start from the beginning. The representative at the airport was very helpful and organized. From the get-go I had a very good feeling about NWC. Upon arrival at OCC we (me and my mother) were... More

My wife and I stayed at Napo in December 2012. Everything about it was all that a person would hope for on a true adventure into the Amazon. They are very well organized. To start with they met us at the Quito airport and made sure everyone boarded the right plane. A 30 minute flight over the Andes mountains took... More

My husband and I recently returned from a 5 day 4 night trip to Napo Wildlife Ecolodge (followed by an 8 day 7 night trip to the Galapagos – review to be written). If you want to get away from it all, see fantastic (and often rare) wildlife, and not sacrifice comfort in the least, the Napo Wildlife Center in the Ecuadorian Amazon is the place. The accommodations: Perfect; the personnel: Charming, knowledgeable and efficient; the native guides: Nothing short of amazing; the locale: Out of a dream; the cell phone connectivity: Non-existent....
