Itinerary: We took the weekend trip which takes you on a night walk, to the clay lick and observation tower to see parrots. We encountered monkeys, an anaconda, a wild boar, carrier ants out of National Geographic, visited an aboriginal cultural centre, and canoed through a swampy area where we saw caimans and birds in the pouring rain. It felt... More

What a joy to know that your trip was wonderful, and everything went according to expectations. As you mentioned, local guides have a super view that it is sometimes difficult to believe, and thanks to them the animals are possible to see. Thank you for your comments and hope to see you again More

Spent 3 nights on the Manatee to and from Coca. Enjoyed the experience immensely. The canoe ride from Coca to the Manatee was as expected, 1.5 hrs and rain squalls to test out the ponchos. Manager, Rubén, made us welcome and our guides/ naturalists Raoul and Diego, made sure we saw all of the wildlife that was around. Yes the... More

What an unbelievable trip on the Manatee! We were welcomed with fresh juice and snacks when we first boarded and every time after that. What a treat - juice was never duplicated. The cabins were clean, comfortable, air conditioned with a European shower, however we did not spend much time in our rooms. Our thanks go to the chef and... More

I have been vacillating between Poor and Very Good Ratings. The Manatee's concept is very good, but this particular trip was wrought with problems. I don't think the size of the rooms or the condition of the ship was unacceptable. Actually we found the room to be very comfortable and well maintained. If you want luxury, you shouldn't choose a... First I want to thank you for the observations and comments. As you mentioned earlier, the jungle is a wild place, and the animals have to find our guides do their best, but sometimes it's just luck. Regarding the internet, we are making the necessary improvements to the issue of cost and quality. We appreciate the feedback to improve every... More

Wow were all our expectations exceeded We arrived in Coca and then took the motorised canoe down the Napa river until meeting the Manatee. it takes about 1.5/2 hours so suggest you have a snack with you and some... We were offered the Manatee as an interesting excursion on our way to the Galapagos and ended up not wanting to leave. The Manatee is an intimate riverboat (20 people at most) that provides a semi-rustic visit to the Amazonia without giving up on the basic amenities such as A/C in the cabin. It is not a luxury cruiser but... More

thank you very much, we appreciate your comment very much. As you say, the idea of Manatee is always moving and try to show all the Rio Napo, because in Rainforest all the days are different; it's amazing to hear that you enjoyed the sun rises of the Amazon because are beautiful. We hope to see you soon. More

Our core tour group of 8 old friends vacationed on the Manatee Explorer this past summer. It was a great experience. Unfortunately they couldn't keep the rain away. (it is a rain forest after all) It rained most of our trip. We were disappointed that we didn't see many animals. We did see quite a few pink dolphins and fresh... More

We did a 5 day / 4 night tour. We arrived at Coca for the transfer to the Manatee Explorer by motorized canoe 1 1/2 hrs down stream.
