Very enjoyable,  relaxing stay with great views. Stayed here for 4 nights. Hostal Rubby is a 5 minute walk to the town. We stayed in cabin number 4 which is on the top floor. We had a great unhindered view of the valley from the balcony, which allowed us to casually watch the birds and fire flies during our stay.... More

This hostal is in the last house on the main road going through the village, 5min out of the touristy center, next to nature :). Don't get irritated by the dusty road leading to it and the outer facade - the nice wooden cottages lie just behind and are very nice, with a great view on the forest, including hummingbirds... More

thks for take the time to do the review, now we are building the laundry place in order that this noise will be far away from cutomers, in 1 week we are going to ask our customers to do not go to rooms with shoes and this will do more quiet first floor of the cabins More

Very nice wooden rooms. Norma is extremely friendly, helpful and can arrange very good bird watching tours. Breakfast is included and good. Location is a 5min walk but very quiet. Room was 13-15 dollar per person. The view from balcony is magnificent. Lovely children and dog

Rubby Hostal is in a beautiful location with views over the cloud forest, but still only 5 mins walk to town. Norma is very welcoming and she has great connections in the birdwatching world - she organised a fantastic birdwatching tour with an incredible guide where we saw toucans, quetzals, tanagers, and lots more. The rooms are nothing fancy but... More

Thanks for your time to do this review, we love that your trip in Mindo was nice. We are happy because this week we had a Certificade from a Cleaning company that takes care about ants, bed bugs and other insects at hotels in order everything is perfect to our customers. More

The hostel is located just outside of the city center, but closer to the trailhead to see the waterfalls (and other outdoor activities). When you arrive, don't be turned off by the haphazard construction out front, the hostel is actually behind! The views of the cloud forest and hummingbirds from the rooms are spectacular or you can enjoy it all... More

Our two night stay turned into a week long as we couldn't leave the beautiful setting and company of Norma at Rubby's. It's about a 5 minute walk from the centre of town which makes all the difference with noise. It has a great view out over Mindo's green hills and is beautiful at any time of the day. Great... More

I stazed in this hostel with my 2 travelmates. We were lucky to be able to choose which room we wanted and chose the one all the way in the attic (the one with the hammock and the two chairs on the main picture here on tripadvisor). It had about 5 beds so since we only stayed with the 3... More

We booked with Norma before Christmas to stay at the hostel. Very quick, informative response through e-mail. So first impression's were good. We arrived on the 28th Dec and were going to book out on the 2nd but decided to stay another night. Norma is a fabulous host. Incredibly informative about the area. We were going to book a bird... We met the owner on a bus to Mindo and she invited us to stay in the private rooms. The four of us loved it - the Wifi is great, super close to the main road and attractions. Norma, the owner of the place is very friendly and helpfull. She would prepare my breakfast at any time, even very very early so that I can get ready at the best moment for birdwatching. And what a breakfast ! No need for lunch after that : hot drink, fruit juice (homemade and different every day), cakes, jam, butter, omelet,... More
