Summer has come and gone, but we would be remiss if we didn't write about the wonderful Summerfest weekend we spent over July 4th at the Wayfarer. We were a little nervous after reading a scathing review of it, but our conversations on the phone with Laura were quite pleasant and forthcoming that we found the review hard to believe... More

Stayed for a long weekend with friends. The house is nicely decorated, numerous comfortable sitting rooms, wonderfully fresh baked goods (especially the chocolate raspberry scones!) served for breakfast in a beautiful diningroom located on a quaint street in Historical New Bedford. The rooms were very nice and spotless and each had a private bath that were recently redone and beautifully... More

After reading review titled "Filthy Kitchen...." I was hesitant about staying but decided to take a chance since the location of B&B was perfect for my needs. Upon arrival my friend & I were greeted by the owner and shown our room and the rest of the B&B. Breakfast was delicious with fresh scones, muffins and danish as well as... More

We found Laura the innkeeper to be most accomodating, friendly and pleasant. Our room was clean and comfortable. The house has been tastefully restored to its victorian splendor. Laura's commissioned her artist-dad to bejewel the walls with his oil paintings. We enjoy looking at and inquiring about them. The breakfast was simple, but rather healthy and delicious. We would absolutely... More

After reading ratings of this B&B on trip advisor I felt confident we had a good place to stay. Day before our arrival I received a call from Laura, the innkeeper, saying she was going to be out of town during our stay; she arranged for a friend to meet us and let us in. Rebecca was very nice and... More

Overall, I had a nice stay at the Wafarer B&B. The house is artfully decorated and the room was clean and charming. The breakfast (included) was definitely the best part-- the innkeeper makes tasty scones and serves fresh fruit and other breakfast staples (cereal, english muffins). However, the room was bare bones. There was no alarm clock, tissues, or conditioner... More

We stayed here and found the building and rooms beautiful and serene. The garden was lovely, with grapes overhanging the outdoor dining table, and a jacuzzi for relaxing. There was also a vegetable garden, and as the innkeeper is a great cook this didn't surprise us. We really enjoyed our stay (wish it could have been longer!) and we would... More

My husband and I live in the Southeastern part of MA and, therefore, we were familiar with New Bedford. We looked around at various towns and B&Bs and decided the Wayfarer seemed like a good place to spend a "get-away" from the house. I guess people are calling these vacations 'staycations'. We originally wanted the seashell room, but it was... More

I had been told to stay at the Hampton Inn nearby, reasonable rates, nice place. Hating cookie-cutter places and finding out their rate was $159 (reasonable?!?), I found this charming place online. There unfortunately aren't enough reviews on the place, though the place looked beautiful and quaint, so I contacted the innkeeper directly, then also got a recommendation from nearby... More
