After reading the recent reviews of this B & B my husband called to check availability. Marlene said that the king size room was available for $ 150 per night. We were greated by Marlene and soon met her husband. She showed us to our room which was a very spacious room with a large bathroom. The furnishings were tasteful.... More

I unexpectedly needed a bed and breakfast in New Bedford. Though I was a late arrival on Amtrak, Marlene was very accommodating, friendly, and helpful to me. She made sure I had an excellent breakfast to start the next day. Marlene and John are remarkably knowledgeable of the history of New Bedford, and helped me navigate to various interesting places... My wife and I stayed at the Davenport house and had a wonderful experience. Hosts were great, location was near downtown and the room was very comfortable. I would recommend the Davenport as a first choice when staying in New Bedford.

I took my 19-year old son to New Bedford on an overnight. He had never been to a bed & breakfast. I'm so happy we stayed here. It was perfect and will forever live in his memory as what B&Bs should be like. Hosts John & Marlene couldn't have been more welcoming and warm. It doesn't get better than this.

Hosts John and Marlene know New Bedford, they know the important role it had in the Underground Railroad, and they are dedicated to sharing with visitors. Their home is lovely, food was terrific, hospitality the best. Location very convenient. We can't wait to have a reason to return!

I have been going to New Bedford Massachusetts for the past several years. My most pleasant experience has been at Dasvenport House. The family is extremely sweet, open and caring. They have an excellent morning breakfast. The room is lovely and the bathroom an experience. I would recommend the master bedroom. Give yourself a chance to enjoy the shower sauna.

We had a wonderful one-night stay here and enjoyed every minute of it. John and Marlene went out of their way to make us feel comfortable, making dinner reservations for us and advising us about what to see and do while in town. The house is a gorgeous Victorian house, a step back in time, which they keep white-glove clean... More

We had 2 fabulous nights at the Davenport House. The house is gorgeous, our room was spotless, and Marlene and John, the hosts, are the most courteous innkeepers I've ever met. The house is very tastefully decorated (free of the knick-knak overkill of many B&Bs) and the gardens are gorgeous. The house is walking distance to New Bedford's downtown and... More
