Several beaches easy walking distance. Excellant snorkeling opportunities right off beach. Other water activites (paddle board, kayak) onsite, but a bit cheaper in front of the Grand at Ocean Adventure booth. Turtles, whales and more. Luau was o.k. good food, below average show. Lousy restaraunts, overpriced (everything in Maui is pricey) and average food. Infinity pool (adults only) could have... More

We loved our stay. There are two beaches on either side of the hotel, it was a quick walk. The pools were wonderful and the views of the ocean outstanding. Our room was comfortable. It is quiet at night and we all slept well. Kihei is a close drive for shopping and restaurants. The shopping mall behind the hotel is... More

If you go to Maui I'd strongly recommend staying in Wailea. The nicest, most upscale resort area on Maui. We stayed for a week and wish we had a month. Yes we would stay at the Marriott here again. Most negative comments are way overblown. The rooms are large and well maintained. The resort amenities & grounds are terrific. Views... More

I would say one of the major letdowns of this hotel was the absence of beach on its premises. They do have a couple of pools and jacuzzis, including a nice looking infinity pool (although the water there was terribly cold, I could only tolerate it for a few seconds to take pictures and then had to run out), and... The grounds at this Marriott are beautiful with a long walkway by the beach. Rooms are clean and comfortable. If attending a Luau in Hawaii, the one held on their grounds is great ($). This hotel is near Big and Small Beach (short car drive away). Parking is expensive. We did not try restaurants on resort, but opted to drive... More

Staying at the Marriott Wailea was a very mixed experience. The physical setting is beautiful, as it's located on Wailea Beach on the Island of Maui in Hawaii. The lobby is also very impressive, as it overlooks the beautiful Hawaiian scene. The hotel restaurant was also very good. Everything else was very mediocre. This hotel was constructed in 1976 as... This was our second visit to this hotel. The best attribute is its setting -- very close to the ocean. We had a lovely room -- could hear the sound of the surf while sleeping in bed. Very soothing. We only stayed here one night, but were very happy with the service we experienced. Our room was ready before the... More

We spent the last four days of our two week holiday in Maui treating ourselves to four nights in a four star hotel. From beginning to end the staff were friendly, obliging and among the best we have ever experienced. The food, while expensive but no more than anywhere else on Maui, was first class in quality and quantity. We... More

Our first time at this resort. 5 years ago we stayed at the Renaissance "up the road" and this property is much nicer. The rooms are quit modern, but still comfortable. We had a top floor room in Hale 4 which overlooks the serenity pool and was close to the lobby and fitness center. We took advantage of the activity... More

Arrived for six nights using Marriott Rewards points. The open air lobby is gorgeous and check in was prompt. We were given an ocean facing room as reserved but had significant trouble finding it. The resort is large and a bit confusing so using a bellman to get to your room is probably a better idea, especially if you have... More
