My wife and I just got back from four nights at the Marriott Wailea. It's a beautiful resort, but overall, I'd say we were underwhelmed. I have a feeling that a lot of the issues with the hotel will be resolved once the construction is done, but as things stand, this resort did not measure up to other similarly-priced tropical... Nestled between two stunning beaches, we found the Wailea Marriott much to our liking. The resort has that "Hawaiian feeling", from the open-air lobby and front desk to the lush, well-manicured tropical trees and vegetation. The resort has all the amenities expected of a 4 or 5 star property: (Mandarin) Spa & beauty shop, fitness center, three swimming pools (one... More

We stayed at this Marriott from Sept 22 - Sept. 29, partly on points. Overall, the resort is in a beautiful location with newly remodeled rooms and great ocean views, but we did have some problems. Keep in mind it is not beachfront, but within easy walking distance on a paved beach path to either Wailea Beach or another smaller... More

We stayed in late September 07 in an ocean front room in Hale 7. The room had been recently renovated and was in excellent condition typical of the newer Marriott resort properties. The room had a great view of the ocean and overlooked the Marriott Luau, which included an impressive fire dancer. The room was extremely quite. We a family... More

With the rates we paid per room, I expected a higher level of service from the Marriott. In fact, it doesn't even hold up to the Marriott standards in my previous stays at its properties. Here are some lowlights of our stay in room 612: 1. The Air Conditioning broke down 3 times during our stay. Each time we had... More

Stayed at the Wailea Marriott for the first week of our two week Hawaiian vacation. Very nervous going in after reading reviews on this site but in the end we were very pleased. The hotel is on a beautiful piece of property and the view is spectacular. The staff is friendly and the rooms are recently renovated. We stayed in... More

Just returned from our honeymoon, and the Marriott Wailea was our first stop. I had very low expectations of this hotel as I knew it is under constructions and had read some bad reviews on this site. I have to say, I was very pleasantly surprised by our stay! Check in was very easy and the front desk staff was... More

We are Marriott timeshare owners and reward members and have stayed at many Marriotts. This one was categorized as a 6 or 7. I would have given it a 3. The rooms were old and musky. The slider doors were rusted and didn't open well. Sleeper sofa old and lumpy. Drapes stained and dirty. Bathroom so small you could hardly... More

this hotel is under construction and looked a little rugged. The reception desk has been reduced to aproximately 10 feet long with quite a few very attentive and accomodating staff. Really, for a place that is under renovation, the management went out of their way to offer a great service. I would love to come back to this hotel every... More

Excellent hotel. Ocean-front room offered the best location. Rooms recently renovated and are very nice. The only minor issue was that the AC unit is under-sized and is unable to cool and dry the room sufficiently. Restaurants were always top-notch. Spa is very nice.
