We rented a unit in the B building on the thrid floor directly from the owner. However, we were not warned that the entire first floor was beeing gutted and renovated. What we hoped would be a nice quiet, relaxing trip to paradise turned into a nightmare. Construction noise started prompty at 8am each day (except Sunday) and lasted until... More

My husband and I chose Makena Surf for our honeymoon. It advertised amazing oceanfront views but appeared to be more quiet than the big resorts. We checked into unit B-205 Sunday afternoon and were stunned by the view from the lanai - the sights and sounds of the waves, clear views of three islands and the mountains of west Maui.... More

I've stayed at many places all over Hawaii and this is probably my favorite place. I wasn't sure about this place since they are individually owned but it's a way better deal than getting a hotel room. I happened to have stayed in room G304. I like this one because it's a top floor condo and you have an unobstructed... More

My wife and two children (3 year -old and 3 month-old) split a two-bedroom condo with my parents (who came along to help with the little ones). The condo itself was SIMPLY AMAZING. The bedrooms and bathrooms were nicely appointed. Pleanty of room for the six of us. The kitchen was nicely stocked with glasses, silverware, pots and pans of... More

Wow! we just returned from a weeks stay at the Makena Surf. It was very clean, comfortable and spacious. We had an amazing view and the beach was almost private with perfect waves and amazing snorkeling! The turtles are right there in the corral on the beach to the left! The pool was clean and my only disappointment was the... More

We just visited maui with our 6 and 2 year olds. We stayed in unit G 202 with the most gorgeous view of the ocean that I have ever seen from any hotel room. Not the wimpy view you have to break your neck to see but a real expansive gorgeous view that leaves you speechless. The beautiful lanai overlooked... More

It is hard to find any fault at the Makena Surf. The condos in Building F are so close to the shoreline that you are lulled to sleep just by leaving the balcony doors open. Unfortunately the bedrooms do not face the ocean so if you want to sleep to the sound of crashing waves you will have to sleep... More

My family just returned from an 11 day trip to Maui. Normally, we stay in very affordable Kihei, but decided to splurge a bit at the Makena Surf. Condos can run $450 -$800+ a night depending on location and time of year. We stayed in unit G201 which we rented from Alii Resorts. This unit tends to have lower rates... More

We rented a unit from Destination Resorts. They were very easy to deal with and when we needed a special type of lightbulb replaced, they were there the next day. The unit itself was on the second floor of the G bldg and we LOVED it. The grounds were gorgeous. We spent a fair amount of time on the lanai;... More

Makena Surf is not a resort but are are individually owned condos. My husband and I stayed here with friends who’s family owns a condo here. Can I say beautiful. With the manicured grounds, good natured, welcoming and helpful staff, tennis court with lessons, hot tub, heated pool, beach equipment, and pristine beach it’s worth the money if you can... More
