This is a nice boutique hotel, good for a romantic and relaxed getaway. I stayed in the Aguila suite. Which is beautiful and had an spacious bathroom. I don't suggest to try the jacuzzi as it doesn't work well ( the water is not warm enough and the bubbles are weak). I would suggest to book in advance and stay... More

This is a beautiful property. It is located in a XVIII century building astonishly well rebuilt. The immediate surroundings are not very nice but it is a peace heaven once you enter the building. It is well located, very close to Cholula center, and within walking distance to the pyramid. The whole hotel is distributed around a very nice patio/garden.... More

This is an excellent boutique hotel in an amazing historic building and with a peaceful courtyard. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Breakfast, lunch and dinner was extraordinary. The conejo room is a beautiful room with very high ceilings but unfortunately one hears the neighbors' conversations and the window (ground floor) opens to the street. The mattress is for... More

Hotel is great, fantastic service, excellent meals and a great location. If you are looking for a boutique experience in Cholula, you can't go wrong with la Quinta Luna. Don't forget to ask to see the photo album which shows the renovation of this 17th century casona.

This was a return two night visit to La Quinta Luna. Everything about it from my previous review remains true (which is a testimony to constant excellence over time). Juan is the center-piece of that excellence: helpful understates it: I mention I'd like to see some fantastic churches on the outskirts of Cholula; he brings a hotel car around and... More

All the other reviews are accurate, this place is wonderful. Stayed four nights, lacked for nothing, staff was more than accommodating, breakfasts were delicious, but one highlight I haven't noted in other reviews is that dinner at the hotel is also stunningly good. One begins to run out of things to do in Cholula fairly quickly, but the hotel is... More

Small mexican boutique hotel hidden away from the streets of Cholula by a huge wooden door which is opened each time by reception staff. A tranquil courtyard with fountain and outdoor seating greets you on entering. Well appointed rooms furnished simply but elegantly. Small restaurant with wonderful art work, lovely for a pre- dinner drinks. Breakfast selection small, but well... More

Our stay in the Puebla area coincided with our wedding anniversary, so I decided to splurge on a fancier, more expensive hotel that I usually choose. It was worth it. The staff was helfpful and friendly. We had a car and the staff would park it for us. They researched driving directions for our sightseeing. They made small-talk with us.... More

I stayed three nights at La Quinta Luna, and the total experience was nigh perfect. The place is drop-dead gorgeous. The staff (Marco, Jaime, Juan and Jorge) unfailingly helpful. The food great (especially breakfast with a vast array of choices - NOT a buffet, thankfully) The tours informative and private. I do recommend getting one of their packages which makes... More

We stayed at this hotel as we were going to Carnival, 2009 ( which wasn't that great) .. too noisy ...... and FOR THE VERY BRAVE ONLY ...... But the hotel was lovely, and a great find. It is centrally located to the zocala as well as the church/pyramid. We chose this city as it happened to be closer to... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Since the early twentieth century, the house was in the hands of the Covarrubias family, a native of Cholula. Although never lived like home, Covarrubias had in it the helmet of the garden that reached around the block and they had pets. In recent years, the house was rented in small batches for various activities, including a dry goods store, a funeral and a bar.The family Cárdenas González de Cossio acquired this property as a ground in late 1995, after 7 years of being on sale. The restoration work was entrusted to the architect and engineer Norma Laguna Jose Luis Castillo, who worked a variety of works, such as the Library Palafoxiana the city of Puebla, the Juarez Hospital in Mexico City and the dome of Santa Prisca in Taxco, among many others. The restoration took more than two years and retained the original structure of the house and the construction system of the time. The painting of its interior is made from earth and minerals, allowing the adobe walls to "breathe." The main gate and the brick floor, more than 300 years old, were rescued and restored. Thus this house today returns to its original splendor. In 2003, the house becomes La Quinta Luna, a great small luxury hotel, distinguished by its excellent personalized service and hospitality. ... more   less
