This place probably used to be a nice hotel, decades ago! When we arrived at the fron desk, it looked like we where bothering the lady by asking for a room. Externaly, the place looks ok. But the room we got (#24), smelled like it had just been sprayed for bugs or washed with a super strong industrial cleaner. We... More

To begin with upon our arrival the lady at the reception desk was as friendly as a tooth ache, she did not welcome us at all and acted like we were bothering her. Have stayed here many times on our way South, but this place has deteriorated considerable over the years. No side table light, only a fluorescent glob above... More

We stayed at several hotels in San Felipe, Loreto, La Paz, Cabo San Lucas and even at an inexpensive hotel in Mulege. But this one in Santa Rosalia was by far the worst. The lady at the reception desk was very rude and barely helpful; customer service must not be in her vocabulary. The room was bare and it took... More

A good place to stop for the night when driving the Baja. A comfortable & clean motel to stay. Pets are allowed. Place appears to be getting some much needed upgrading. Ample parking close to rooms. Staff is friendly, bilingual & very helpful.

The building is fine. You can park your car near the bedroom door which is a bit better on the security front. The AC was weak but the window opened...the water pressure was low. but by far the worst were the beds--setting aside the fact that the mattresses were worn out. I shared a room with my friend--two beds--my bed... More

Hotel el Morro has an awesome view of the Sea of Cortez, which we didn't discover until the following morning since we showed up at night. The rooms lack decor, and aren't very clean. I don't know what it was, but we were both itching the entire night while trying to sleep in that bed. The continental breakfast consisted of... More

I've stayed three times now in Hotel el Morro , they accept pets charge 50 pesos for it i think . The rooms on the ocean are a little more expensive . Still only about $ 46 i think .They are clean and the people are friendly , don't get me wrong it's not a luxurious hotel but it's nice... More

The setting is stunning. The rooms, while dark and dated, have a certain charm. The building itself is lovely. It is clean. That's the good - the bad is the iron cage around the patio, the complete lack of even warm let alone hot, water and the dirty weed choked patio. The repulsive is the "continental" breakfast. Nasty weak coffee,... More

Dog friendly, parking right outside the room, nice terrace with a gorgeous view of the Sea of Cortez. About a mile outside of the town to the south. Several good restaurants in town.Free continental breakfast, which is never anything to get excited about, but very rare for Baja. Great place but with 2 complaints, I was promised the WIFI would... I really enjoyed Hotel el Morro. The parking was secure, a good thing because we had an ATV in our pickup. The WIFI was a bit sketchy in our room but we were otherwise quite pleased. There is a great Chinese restaurant, yes I said Chinese, just north of the hotel, perhaps a 1/2 mile also on the water. Another... More
