Situated a little out of town with great views across the marina and the harbour this was the best hotel we experienced in Cuba. To benefit from the view a room on one of the top floors is best. The bathroom was large and well appointed with a big walk in shower. The bar area was roomy with a pleasant... More

When we saw the views from one side of the corridor my friend and I screamed we were so awed by it. Then we went into the spacious rooms and the balcony and we had the views of the pool underneath and the piers, beach and yachts ....and the sun sets...unbelievable. I felt at peace there in awe of the... More

I stayed at the Jagua for two nights in late March, as part of a large group. The hotel is set at the end of a peninsula so there are magnificent ocean views from almost any where. The lobby is large and breezy, and leads to either the pool or shops. The pool is great and there is poolside drink... More

By Cuban standards it's adequate, by US standards it is not. Shabby rooms, dim lights and only some of them actually work, poor water pressure and limited hot water (think lukewarm trickle showers), and uncomfortable beds only begin to describe the experience. But climb the rickety curved stairway at the adjacent magnificent home up to the roof for a wonderful... More

From the outside this is an old ugly concrete building which stands out next to the magnificent palace next door. Inside though it is not as bad as it first appears. Rooms and the bathroom are a bit shabby, but comfortable enough. The hotel has a bar but for some reason we were not allowed to buy drinks and take... More

This is a modern hotel in amongst some older buildings and a residential area alongside the waterside. We were allocated a poolside room, which was good. Facilities are OK - fairly basic. Buffet meals were well provided for - a good selection both for breakfast and dinner. The hotel grounds were enclosed so not allowing much of a stroll. Overall... More

Hotel is set almost at the end of a peninsular at the end of the main street and looks out onto the bay Large bedrooms with two double beds, and good bathroom with shower. Bedrooms all face over the pool with balcony but face roughly north, the door to bedrooms is from a long open corridor which faces south. We... More

If you keep your expectations real, this is actually a pleasant place to stay. The Jagua is a government-run, medium-sized hotel in a great location. Government-run means there will be problems; in my room, the holder for the shower head was broken, so I had to use it like a shower massage. But the room was clean, the water was... More

We stayed with a group here in February. The hotel is situated right on the bay. We had a room overlooking the pool and out into the bay. Our room had a pleasant balcony which was great for relaxing. There was a large sized dining room brightly furnished. Buffet style breakfast and dinner with plenty of choice. Two nice bars.... More

After all the hoopla about Hotel Nacional in Cuba and consequent disappointment, we did not have high hopes for Jagua, in a city we thought would be less cosmopolitan--not so. Jagua was bright, modern, clean and comfortable. Our room had a balcony overlooking the water, just perfect. Yes, the wifi wasn't working and one morning there wasn't enough hot water... More
