I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights earlier this month and was allocated a room on the 4th floor. The sliding wardrobe door was just hanging on. The fabric on the 'arm chair' was so dirty there was no way I was going to sit on it. There were stains on the bed spread. Of course, no matrass protector... More

Hotel Jagua was surprisingly good. Rooms were clean and airy. Excellent views over the water and the town from the balcony. Buffet breakfasts had variety and quality and our dinner was equally good. All in all, an better than expected tour hotel. The bonus was the quality of the Cuban jazz groups in the outdoor lounge at night.

We stayed for one night in this hotel. It is a little bit out of town but has a very nice swimming pool with sea view. The rooms are clean and pretty luxury for Cuban standards. In the morning there was a breakfast buffet but because the hotel seemed to be fully booked it was very busy.

Not impressed with this hotel, first we were sent to a room which was already occupied! We were then moved to our correct room, which was dirty don't think the bathroom floor had had a good clean for several weeks! Food was surprising good in this hotel. Very nice walks in around the hotel.

I was a bit apprehensive about this hotel but was pleasantly surprised when I arrived. The hotel was built in the 1950's but has been renovated and is pretty good for Cuba. The hotel lobby is well decorated and modern. The hotel is about 8 or 9 stories tall and is one room wide. So you have a walkway on... More

My wife and I stated there for our honeymoon and we had an unforgettable time, the staff is very friendly and welcoming. Rooms where clean daily and the balcony view at dawn and dusk takes your breath away. Breakfast in the morning made by chef Frank Oramas and chef Amado Lemus is to die for. Love the place and I'm... We stayed here twice at the beginning and at the end of a cruise. I chose it partly on the strength of TA reviews which were a good deal better than they are now, and also based on a comment from a Lonely Planet book which described it as a '... jolly good hotel, surprisingly plush ...' The LP reviewer... More

For groups this is the only place to stay. It's a 50's American built hotel with no updates to the rooms. The lobby is nice but in the rooms, bedding is poor and things may or may not work. Elevators seem to break down often and the food was pretty awful, to be honest. A number of our group got... More

Nice hotel with good facilities close to main beach area. One of the better hotels we encountered on our tour of Cuba. Try the Naughtical club close by for their buffet lunch - nioce food selection and very reasonable although you d have to pay an admission charge to get into the club grounds, but not expensive. Lots of good... More

Rooms in two mansions across the street on the beach, "Pearl of the Sea," and "Greenhouse." Both offer decent rooms with private baths, although somewhat noisy from street traffic. Breakfast is in the Jagua Hotel. Only average accommodation, although hotels in Cuba are limited.
