The reception area is quite impressive and the Hotel had a good internet connection (not always the case in Cuba). Quite a good location and good views. The buffet breakfast was good. However the room we had rather let the rest down being dated and surprisingly smelt rather "musty". Not so much of a problem that I would not stay... More

I am surprised to read the glowing reports below. We stayed one night ten days ago. Our room was on the 4th floor and was filthy. The floors had not been washed for weeks. There was mould in the bathroom. It was very cold when we were there and I would not have put my dog on the blanket that... More

Stayed at this hotel for two nights. Had a room on the top floor with spectacular views over the harbor. The room was quite large and very clean with an updated bathroom. The king sized bed was a bit hard but it worked. The maid who took care of the room left beautiful artificial flowers on the bed each day... More

This hotel does not look very charming from the outside, but from the rooms you have a nice view of the ocean and the city. The check-in was fast and we went to our room which was large with a nice and large bathroom. The beds were comfortable and we slept well. The buffet breakfast was very good.

This is a great hotel with polite and helpful staff. Our room was clean and tidy with comfortable beds and a fairly modern bathroom with plenty of hot water to the shower. The air conditioning unit was also pleasantly quite. The only draw back was the dining room for breakfast was huge but still overcrowded and it made it difficult... More

This hotel was like the curates egg, good in parts. The initial impression is one of a very modern hotel, with a well presented reception area together with a lounge and two bars. However whilst the room was found to be very clean, light and airy it was somewhat dated. The entrance door had the secondary lock mechanism missing. With regard to the food, the selection was good,but... We loved the music, architecture, and art of Cienfuegos. The ocean view from our balcony at the Jagua was more than enough to make up for the hotel's rough edges. The rooms retain their 1950's feel, and after many coats of paint, the bathroom door never really closed and there were spurious cupboards that never really opened. Our room was... More

We actually preferred this hotel to our first hotel (in Havana), the Nacional. The room we had at the Jagua was spacious, very clean, the balcony was a welcome space, the views were wonderful, and the property itself encouraged lots of outdoor lingering and walking around. The pool area is terrific. Unlike others, I don't mind the 1950s ambience; in... More

I was at the Hotel Jagua for a week with friends and I had a great experience!!! The views were fantastic, you can see the bay from the suites. We had a great service from Taimi Morejon and also from Sinai, both of them were very helpful. Also the bartender Frank, the best Mojitos that I ever have had...my experience... More

A decent enough hotel in a nice spot outside town on the peninsula. Nice walks from town to hotel. Rooms decent enough although request for another pillow met with blank refusal! Used cushion from chair instead! Reception staff surly and unhelpful. Others In our party had worse experiences than us in this hotel. Food, however, good and plentiful especially breakfast.
