That is actually too generous a phrase, credited to the author of Frommer's guide to Cuba. We should have taken heed. There were no other options in Cienfuegos, yet this was the worst accommodation I have experienced and I have stayed in hundreds of rooms in Latin America. I get the circumstances under which it was built, but why would... More

We stayed here for one night as part of an overnight tour of the area. There was a special show in the hotel that evening. The noise from that could be heard in my room, which was overlooking the reception area. We had dinner in the basement restaurant, the food was very nice and the service excellent. Breakfast buffet was... More

I have travelled to Cuba more than 30 times over the past two decades, but had never stayed at the Pasacaballo before a trip in October 2015. The Trip Advisor review made me apprehensive, but my concerns were put to rest shortly after my arrival. The Pascabello is typical of many 1990s resorts constructed when Cuba opened its doors to... Rooms small, the food was horrible, very greasy and lacking flavor. The best thing about the hotel was the bartender, friendly and informative. Atmosphere was not there for anything, smoking everywhere, reception desk was extremely hot, they should have installed ceiling fans to circulate the air. I got there around 8:30 PM and finally got a room by 9. I... More

Maybe once Luxurious, however time has passed since 1970. This enormous hotel feels cold and heartless. Judging from the view, this hotel is in need of a total makeover! no repears have been done in years. The pool is broken and judging by the view already for at least some months. being 20 km away from the city center you... More

The hotel is reasonably decent, food is horrible, pool has sea water and is always totally deserted, most guests are local Cubans. There is no beach nearby (unless you take a ferry to the other side of the bay, where is a small local beach). But, if you want to stay away from the other tourists and mix with the... More

I stayed here last year for one night and also stayed here for two nights last week. This hotel is either used for a stop by hotel for people touring the island or people who want a budget hotel for month long stays. Bar Tenders are awesome and very happy to have people at their bar who are having a... More

We stayed at Islazul Pasacaballo hotel for one night in January 2015. The hotel is rather old. We had a room with no working air condition. We complained and a man came to fix it. He ´cuold´nt fix it and we had to go back to complain again. The staff followed us to look for Another room, but air condition... More
